Hi! I'm looking to get a Blood Angels army and was looking for a competitive assault list for 1500 points. I haven't purchased any models yet or even a codex but was wanting some ideas on what to get. Any help would be much appreciated.

Well it depends if you want to go infantry heavy or mech/amour heavy.

Considering BA can use assault marines as troop choices and when deepstriking they only scatter one D6 this is one option of playing them; you will get a very fast army that´s hitting hard .

On the other hand most vehicles of BA are fast so place assault marines without JP in LAS/PLAS razorbacks and take a few Baal predators and there you go clattering down the road.

Buying the codex would be useful, though.

So it depends what type of player you are before being more specific.

There have been tons of BA lists in the last month...from jumpers to mech to hybrids. All with great critiques on pros/cons in each of the threads.

I would like to be more troop heavy list with lots of assault marines deepstriking. I've read a couple of the lists, I'm just not sure what works and what doesn't work as far as they go, having no experience with the army.

The basics of a DoA/Jumper lists are Libs as HQ's with Sheild and Rage, then load out on Ten man Assualt squads with dual meltas and powerfists, and dual flamers, and powerweapons/LC's. Then you want Sanguinary Priests to give the assualt marines FNP and FC. After that consider Honour guards and Vanguard Vets.

But really you should get a codex.

Here is a link to one of my 1500 point lists, I'm not a competitive player, and I like to play around with SC's but the core of the list is pulled from tournament style lists.
