Isn't there a Mechanarium or something of the sort.

I've seen people on the PP forums talking about it, I guess it's very valuable.

I honestly don't know what you're referring to. Do you mean the Liber Mechanika? If so, that's a sourcebook for IKRPG.

I was actually just coming on here, after several months of near-non activity, to ask the same question.

Simon Berman has FBed some ideas here on there on his FB account.

If you look around there is some short stories here and there. There is a rather simple five minute read at the beginning of the Prime. I don't know about the other books. I don't own the Cryx faction book.

An oddity. A direct quote from an uncitated sentence from Wikipedia.

"In addition to the role-playing game, the Iron Kingdoms is the setting for the miniatures games Warmachine and Hordes, as well as a number of novels"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Kingdoms

The RPG has a lot of background, but little monologue.

And a few actual short stories, surprisingly.

Nothing really great. I agree that Press should do there own version of black library or find somebody who freelances and uses a general publisher.

I found all that in about thirty seconds. I love you Google. Your like spotlight only not quite as so.

I've been thinking about doing my own fanfic. I'm a Writers Digest subscriber and a bit fascist when it comes to writing I hate to say. I.E. I think myself better than most amateur writers. I try not to be but it comes through here and there. Anyway, military science fiction sounds like fun.

You can also find a load of descriptive writing about the background before each faction and at the beginning of Prime. Not very professionally done, but heck.

Currently your stock for fluff comes in Prime mk 2, Primal mk 2, Wrath, Domination, and each of the Faction books. The Mk 1 books are still out there if you want to track them down. (Prime - Remix, Primal, Escalation, Metamorphosis, Apotheosis, Superiority, and Legends)

The factions books are very heavy on fluff and stories.

PP's magazine No Quarter always has fluff articles and has had several short stories from time to time. You can view the table of contents online, and many of the older issues are now sold for $1 on PP's site.

The Iron Kingdoms RPG is getting redone, so a new book is due this summer. You should be able to find some good stuff there.

I can't wait for the new RPG book to release. An RPG for a Wargame that uses the same models is a good idea. Win

Oh its good fluff too. I'd like to see an omnibus of all the rule book and faction book fluff along with many of the No Quater short stories. Just a simple reprinting in one volume, help people catch up or dive in.

Of interest, the story from the Cryx Faction Book ties in directly to the Retribution/Ossyian story from Wrath.

There is also a part of the cryx story in the cygnar book where certain events that are a big deal, but not given depth, are more fleshed out. It's easy enough to guess what happens, but the full details are there. If you read the cygnar book alone, that story is cast in a much different light than if you read the cyx book too.

The old IKRPG books are really good and full of interesting background - the World Guide especially is a wealth of information. Asides from that, you have the two Monsternomicons, the Liber Mechanika, the Five Fingers: Port of Deceit campaign book (really good setting book, one of the best I've ever seen in an RPG) and a couple of smaller publications such as Lock & Load (the precursor to the World Guide/Character Guide). Hopefully, the new RPG will keep to the same standards.

I am really crossing my fingers for no novels. I know a lot of people disagree, but I have never read a Black Library book that I regard as good, even by the "celebrated" authors. They are pay-by-the-word shlock, something they share with practically every other established universe novel fan money-milking machine out there (Battletech/Dragonlance/Forgotten Realms/Halo/etc ad nauseaum). I have faith in Privateer Press...to produce good games. While it is conceivable they could break the mold with novels, I have my doubts.
