I'm trying to download gilbert and sulivan model scientist salarian from mass effect 2 when mordin starts singing. But i've ran into all sorts of problems. First, my computer doesn't seem to see that my phone is plugged in from a usb cord so i can't seem to try and save any files to it. Second, every single "free" ringtone website is said to be a scam. Third, my phone doesn't seem to have an audio recorder. i have an Lg extravert. Please i hope someone can help me.

It would seem that you need to either get a phone with a recorder, or pony up the extravagant sum of (what, $2) to buy the ringtone that you want.

forgive if i sound unknowlegable or stupid in saying this, Couldn't extract said audio file then convert it and then put it on your mobile?

Try either phonezoo or myxer. I use them both and they are legitimate. You can create your own ringtones on both of the sites and send a download link to your phone. The only cost is that of a text message and for the data download (depending on your carrier).

My computer doesn't reconize any device when i plug my phone in. im just gonna get a friend to record it

Here's a dirty trick:

Some cell phone providers will have installed software onto their phones that prevents things like ringtones from appearing in your phone's list of files. This ensures that you have to purchase those ringtones legitimately, often from said company's own system.

You may have to get your phone unlocked.
