Just looking to see if the majority of people here actually play Orks or other type of race.

The majority are going to play some form of Marines, sad to say :(

Not that marines aren't cool, but they are a bit over-saturated.

I play Orks, and have since RT. I'm STILL painting the gits

I also play DE, BT (occasionally) and Daemons, though i've played near every army in 40K at one point or another.

I've had a couple of Ork armies over the years.

I believe the first was back in Armageddon, the first Ork I owned was Ghaz on the day he was released.

I've got about 1500 points so far, and play them fairly regularly (I've CSM as well). The army's not finished yet, looking to expand to at least 2k...

The majority hardly plays orks, but a fair number probably do due to the Black Reach starter set.

I played Orks in second edition, and I had a fantastic time with their pulsa rokkitz and cyboars and wave after wave of expendable grotz. I picked up another Ork army when AoBR came out and eventually expanded it to around 5,000 points, but last year I started to get bored with them so I started a Dark Eldar army. I like them, but I wanted some more variety so I got a Space Wolves army. I'm not going to start any more 40K armies unless they introduce a new faction that I really like.

I have about 1.5k orks, going on 2k. They are my second army, started after I began to suspect that they won't upgrade necrons for another decade.
Fortunately, I was wrong about the necrons.

At this point they're almost a novelty. Not that there's anything wrong with them, but my circle of people I play with is pretty small, and I've used them enough that they often wind up being ineffective, as my opponents know both me and my Orks pretty well!

Put em in a Battlewagon with a Big Mek and you'll be singing a different tune. My friend sometimes plays orks with that set up and I usually end up crying in the corner.

I've just started orks, although I've been playing IG for a while. Ig is my "serious" army, while my orks are for messing around and having fun. We have no ork players at our store yet, something I'm hoping to change... Now I just need to figure out a way to get like 40 bikes for fairly cheap...

I got talked into orks and went nuts. Foot sloggin' boyz is a blast. As of right now I have over 400 boyz, 100 nobz, 6 trukks, 5 wagons, 33 koptas, 15 kans, 4 dreads, 3 stompas, 3 skull hammas, and a fighta bomma. They are all in various stages of paint and being stripped. two other guyz in my group have played orks over the past couple years. I figure on here marines are popular but orks aren't far behind.

I do, but not because of the Black Reach box set, have never bought the starter. Been playing them for almost 3 years now and they've been my favourite army for that time.

Also play Space Wolves, Necrons and Eldar. Sometimes bring my Daemons out.

I have a small Ork army.

I play Black Templars most of the time (our campaigns).

I break out my Orks for small tournaments my buddies run or for just-for-fun games.

Snoop around on ebay. I found about 2500 points worth of Chaos Space Marine stuff for $250!!! A lot of it was kinda useless like bikes and raptors, but it's still a great deal. Just keep an eye out for cheap kits or big lots that have a low starting price. You can find some great stuff on there.

Orks were my first army in 3rd. They are still my first love even though I haven't played them in a very long time. The 4th ed codex pretty much killed the list that I loved to play. (Speedfreeks in the Armageddon book) so I'm waiting for them to get redone before taking them back off the shelf.

That doesn't stop me from buying another trukk or battlewagon kitbash kit ever so often though.
