Right, I have decided to start paint a Minas Tirith army after I was inspired to paint Boromir by Scotti. But I'm a little tied over what to take.

I'm not sure whether to paint a 500 point army or a 750 point army.

Anyway this is what I already have:

King Aragorn mounted 275
Boromir with banner 225
Boromir with shield 180
Faramir with bow 75
Faramir with h.armour (missing sword arm atm) 80
Denethor 30
Captain, shield 55
Captain, shield 55
32 men with spears and shield 288
32 with bows 256
32 with shields 256
1 with banner 32
10 Rangers 80
2 rangers with spears 18
3 guard of fountain court 30
3 citadel gaurd with longbows 30

I've already painted Boromir with a shield and 6 warriors of Minas Tirith (2 spear and shield, 2 shields, 2 bow).

Any help would be appreciated

Behind you!

Hi,

I don't know what would suit you best, but my approach is usually just going for 500 pt first and get them ready, you can always decide to get a 750 pt later. Then again the same could be said other wise and going straight for a 750 pt army to occasionally go for the 500 pt whenever needed or wanted.

Can you show a picture of your Boromir and the rest of the painted Minas Tirith? Good choice imo, I really enjoy the stability of the gondor army and love the Minas Tirith 'look'.

As for your army list, I am to inexperienced to comment but have to say Aragorn is awesome ^^

I advise you to start with 500pts and then paint another 250, that's what I'd do.

Come on... ...Come on!... ...COME ON!!!

I'll try and put a picture up tomorrow, I'm just off to bed.

Btw, the models I've listed are ones I already have. (I went a bit mental when I was younger).

Staying on target.....

I'd paint first:

Boromir w/ banner
GotFC
Citadel with bows
A dozen standard minas tirith
and half the rangers.

Oh and you'll need another hero so a captain

Lisen to this man, althou I would paint all your rank and file first. Since they take the most time to paint up, then I would do the heros. But this is totaly up to you thou. Anyhow will be looking forwards to seeing them

Thanks for the vote of confidence there

Then listen to trondheim, get most of your rank and file out the way. I do it slightly different and slot in characters here and there between but it can lead to just painting characters and having a very grey army

I'll listen to both of you

Only thing is I'm going to use Boromir with a shield because I already painted him (plus i prefer the model)

What do you think about Citadel guard with longbows?

I like them seen as it means they are str.3 but split your allowance between them and rangers.

They are decent , heavy armour and a good fight value. The difference between the two is one can have elven bows and the rangers have a shoot of 3+ basically. That's why a mix is better, balance the power with reliability.
