As of now, we have a Jack of all Trades Leman Russ (LRBT) a tankbuster (Vanquisher) a nuker (Demolisher) a horde killer (Punisher), a light vehicle popper (Exterminator) and a coversave denier (Eradicator).

Here's a few more variant ideas:

Leman Russ Giantslayer- 160 points. The Giantslayer is armed with an Anklebiter missile launcher in its turret. It functions as a twin-linked Krak Missile Launcher (range 48 str 8 AP3). If you score a hit against a walker or Monstrous creature, their movement is reduced by D6". Against monstrous creatures, the Anklebiter inflicts D3 wounds to the target.

Leman Russ Conqueror- 150 points. The Conqueror is armed with a Conqueror cannon (Range 48" Str 8 Ap3 Ordinance small blast). The Conqueror cannon is lighter and smaller than the conventional Battlecannon, allowing the Conqueror to fire it more effectively on the move. The Conqueror's Lumbering Behemoth rule is modified to give it 9+D3" movement and it may fire up to two weapons in addition to the Conqueror cannon while moving at combat speed.

Leman Russ Dessicator- 175 points. The Dessicator is armed with a Dessicator Cannon. This functions like the Chemcannon, but has a 18" range.

1. Seems OP, D3 wounds against MCs practically guarantees a kill in two turns, and making them SnP simply by hitting them pretty much means that an MC can be made worthless once it comes within 24" since the odds of it reaching you alive are nearly zero.

2. Not OP, just useless, why would I take a small blast template over a large blast template simply for a little speed? I mean it is all fluffy, just cannot see anyone using it.

3. Nothing at all wrong with the Dessicator as far as I can tell.

I like this. I assume you mean that the Dessicator Cannon functions in the same way an Inferno Cannon? (Template placed anywhere within 12" with the small end closer than the big end?)

I would take this variant in a heartbeat, but it would probably have to cost more than a LR Punisher for that much MEQ liquifying goodness. Although I suppose it would negate the benefit of Lumbering Behemoth, what with the Dessicator Cannon being Strength X.

I thought it would be strength 1? The same as the Bane Wolf's chem cannon. However, I agree that a points rise is in order.

All of these ideas are unnecessary. Guard get the most kinds of tank, they do not need 3 more.

Also, two is incredibly OP, It can fire an ordnance weapon in addition to TWO other weapons, while normal ordnance weapons cannot fire another?

No. two is just plain wrong.

Really like the Dessicator one. Might even give it the option of Chemcannon sponsons.

Either way, the point was you don't get the benefit of being able to fire a big, ordnance, turret weapon pn the move so it does balance at least a little.

I kinda like the Giantslayer variant, but the name sounds a little.. well... dwarfish

You could change it to Leman Russ Decimator, Destructor, Deathbringer or Hunter.

I know the Conqueror already exists, I was trying to bring it up to 5th edition rules by having the Conqueror cannon be a smaller type of battlecannon that gets mobility at the cost of a large blast weapon. The point of being able to fire 2 weapons in addition to the cannon was so that you could take sponson weapons and actually be able to move and fire both of them with the cannon weapon, which you normally cannot do (you can move and fire ONE of them).

The Leman Russ can actually move 6" and fire as if it was stationary.. that's what makes it so good.

^That is mistaken. LB allows you to fire one weapon in addition to the turret weapon along with any defense weapons if you move 6".

For your Conquerer. I would get a different name and lower the strength. Idk, I just dont like the idea of having a LR moving and being able to fire 2 weapons in addition to the turrent weapon. It just sounds op.

Didn't the Conqueror variant also have a co-axial stormbolter or something?
Also, don't make the weapon ordnance, after all it is firing a "lightweight cannon" so ordnance just doesn't seem right.
