Well, like the title says thats what I am working on. This is just a small army just to have some fun with. I wanted to test my skill in the art of painting yellow and doing some minor battle damage to the marines. I hope so far it is working out, and I would love some tips as well. And of course these marines are not finished and are just the base of what I am building off of. So let me know what you think so far!

Try to guess who this is.

As a side note, I would like to point out that the yellow honostly is not that bright neon color that is shown in the pictures. My lighting as seemed to over saturate some of the battle damage that is on the marine and the sergeant so I took some more photos. More is better I guess, I know its of the same models but every bit helps when I am using an iPhone camera.

May I ask, how did you get such a smooth yellow?

Thanks!

Well actually its pretty easy. I did a white primer and then used a slightly watered down Sunburst Yellow and thats it. I use to use a yellow ink wash before, but they dont make that ink anymore so I went ahead and used the yellow paint and it worked just as well. To break up the details I used a gryphonne sepia wash and then the battle damage was just strips of chainmail.

Yeah, prime white then wash yellow then wash a red/brown, then hard edge highlight in a thin yellow, just needs a little depth to them!

Bravo on going with one of the best chapters, but handicapped by the colour for a marine, aside from puce.....! I take it they'll fight with a handicap because of that?!

Thanks! I always had a thing for the Imperial Fists. And I do need to add a bit more wash to them in some places.
