Yup that works pretty well. I use 3 scoutbikes with a combimelta, meltabomb AND clustermines. Clustermines are used to defend my sniperscouts from enemy assaults. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the unit when I dont have first turn. Sure giving something a cover save is nice....but what will they do the rest of the game? For now I use them to finish off small units, or roadblock something for 1 turn. Once vehicles start moving, the meltabomb loses its charm.
I also field a landspeeder storm filled with a scout squad equiped with a combi melta and a meltabomb. A lot of my opponents are starting to put all their vehicles in reserves when I have first turn now
