Simple question, but since I'm not a Guard player and have never played against a Leman Russ Executioner (and with Space Marines getting their own Predator with an Executioner Plasma Cannon), I was just wondering how this weapon actually works as its a Heavy 3, Blast weapon.

Does it generate three different templates from the same point (each scattering separately) or are all models under one template hit three times?

It fires three separate blasts, please re-read the shooting section in the rulebook at your next opportunity.

I did or else I wouldn't have come here. The only example it gives is firing multiple Blast weapons (and the wording it gives suggests that it is talking about such as being fired from more than one model in a unit), nowhere does it even talk about firing a single blast weapon which has multiple shots. Hence why I came here and asked. Better to ask and get other people's input on how it works (people who probably have actually used such rules or weapons before) instead of automatically assuming how it works and potentially ending up looking like a git.

Schrott

Choose target.
then place small blast template above target
roll to scatter and scatter the blast.
do this 2 more times

then roll wounds upon targets (or pen depending on what you hit)

if you are firing 5 shots (executioner cannon + 2 plamsa cannon sponsons) then do the same thing only 5 times total.

works same with other template weapons.

ex: if a batlte cannon could fire twice. fire at target and scatter template sepratly (starting on the target) and do the rest f the rolls.

In order to fill up the remaining points in my army (and because it is cheesetacular) I run a LR Executioner with two plasma sponsons. So yeah, 5 plasma cannon shots. VERY effective against Orks, though reduntant in many cases.

They're more effective against Marines of various flavours. While you may roast half an Ork mob in one turn, overall it's nothing to the Ork player. Crack open a Rhino, and roast the entire squad inside, and watch the Marine player cry.

One unit can't both crack open the rhino then shoot the squad inside, since all fire from a single unit is simultaneous.
Crack it open with another unit, then let the Executioner melt faces... That'd work.
