I like these a lot.
Fantastic painting and converting.
However, why are they wearing leg-warmers?

They aren't leg warmers. They're spats/gaiters.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spats_(footwear)

They look nice and Prussian, well done.

I wanted to make difference of "Storm Trooper" from infantry bulk, to allocate them therefore I made by it an individual uniform adhering to the basic principles.
And the name "Grenadiers" suits them in this case more

To make them recognizable was my main objective.
Each race of Imperial Guard has the real prototype, Krieg-is Germans on the First World War, Pretoria - a colonial form of Englishmen and so further - all of us know about it.
Mordians IG - I consider that their image is taken from Prussia on French-Prussian war of 1870 and consequently I tried to make respective appearance.

The Mordiansky guard interests me, but it is not enough data on it, as there are not enough data on its uniform, on color of regiments. Therefore I decided not only to make to myself game army Mordiansky IG, but also to make color and Uniform tables and as to describe and make drawings of arms of guard, for example so

I will continue to work and do more different miniatures of IG including "forgotten" regiments

I badly speak on English, but I think that you understood the main sense of the text

They are fantastic! I like the puttees on the feet, and the lasgun covers.

I'm a little surprised by how 'steampunk' they are - they could almost be Vostroyan.

The painting is good too - it's as good as I can manage anyway, so I can't criticise! Good use of washes, but I don't think you need the blue wash on the chainsword. A black wash might have looked better.

I look forward to seeing the rest of the army. Are you using normal Mordian models for the normal troopers?

Awesome conversions and paintwork, though the guns/backpacks look a littl too monotone. I'd like to see some detailing/color variation on them...

Some and think, but I know many other people who perceive Mordian Guard as a prototype German for 1870. It is possible to find a lot of identical both in a uniform and details, and in symbolics.

Definitely Germany in the late nineteenth-century - mind you the famous Blue Dress uniform for the USMC came about around the same time ... it was the fashion then! So chic!

KrexPexFex - great job on this unit!

It is absolutely unimportant, for me the Mordiansky guard is Germany therefore I do all the army in this style similar to the German army. here for example veterans and sergeants in my Mordian IG army .
