I'm trying make a list that includes 4-6 attack bikes, but I really don't want to buy the GW ones for $100+.

Does anyone have any ideas how to convert the regular marine bikes to 'count-as' attack bikes? Like would a regular bike with a MM gun/turret obove the biker or on the side of the bike be okay?

Scout bikes are cheaper and could take a heavy weapon conversion to the front. A normal bike could have the heavy weapon attached to the side without too much difficulty i reckon.

There are some very good quad bike conversions around too, either with a robot gunner or a marine gunner precariously hanging off the back. Extra wheels are pretty cheap and easy to find. So long as the overall width and height is close to a normal attack bike, you shouldn't have many arguments re LoS etc.

Seems like I have been ninja'd posting my own tutorial. ^^

The thing is. You get 2 attack bikes out of one ravenwing biker set, no problem. Even three if you buy some bits online. The problem is the lack of heavy weapons. These have to be bought anyway (but that would be the case with every conversion out of regular bikes).

Two sets of ravenwing bikers plus some extra bits would give you 4-6 bikes. You have to calculate how much you could save, depending on the size of your bits box. It may turn out that it is even pricier, though.
