I just got this game this weekend and am now hooked like a crack addict. It's said to be a 2-D Minecraft but better. I discovered it on YouTube from TotalHalibut's channel. I guess its been around a while but is anyone else playing currently?

I find it a 2-D Minecraft in a negative way.

I played a gak tonne of it when one of my mates hosted a server, single player is a bit lacking I find. Any game is better with some multiplayer XD

That being said, I may dive back into single player for the purposes of putting it on youtube. XD

As an aside, no more terraria updates.


It plays far differently than minecraft, so it's not really a fair comparison.

Tried it, couldn't play more than 30 minutes of it.

The Soladrin I knew would've completed everything in Terriaria by now and sworn off the game forever.

Yeah I played the game for about a week and now Im bored of it. Its great though. I just went on to a server and got all the stuff. Im too lazy to get it all honestly.

I worked my way up to the best armor naturally, and even recently got myself hallowed armor (hell yeah!), just to show how much of a loser I am.

Oh man. Do not fight him (and win) until you're SURE you're ready. My roommate and I had a world where we felt like BMOC, killed him, and then got absolutely schooled by all the hallowed stuff that came afterward. It's quite a ramp in difficulty from that point on.

Make some potions.

You'll want obsidian skin and water walking, bare minimum, so that you can focus on killing him and not dealing with the lava.

After that, one combination that could work is actually using meteor armor, because it allows you to have infinite ammo with a certain weapon, so you focus more on dodging and less on aiming.

Or just spam waterbolt offscreen xD

That can also work. But the obsidian skin and water walking are absolutely vital either way.

We actually pulled it off without requiring any, but we meticulously paved over hell before attempting it. Probably let us tackle it before we were ready. Probably one of those little things that contributed to our overall downfall.

It's been a while - quite boring just playing with randoms though :(

Yes, that can work. I suppose if you have enough stone brick (preferably brick, because it doesn't turn to hallow or corruption) it is perfect.

I defeated it in full meteor, rocket boots, 5 healing potions, space gun and muramusa, oh, and obby skull

don't really like how you are constantly farming materials, until you kill the snake boss, or you can just skip to the boss pretty easily, and as long as you kill one segment before you go down, you are fine and can skip the whole resource tree.

It would be fun to start a new game and mass-do everything to really cut down on the game time though

There's at least three.

well, techniquily the wyvern isn't a snake, or a boss (just a miniboss)
and technucally the Destroyer is a robot, not a snake
but I'm guessing he means the Eater of Worlds as it gives you the most resources

I just started it myself.
My god its hard! The monsters just keep spawning...
I find it a lot more enjoyable than minecraft though. It has more of a focus, and the bosses are pretty epic.

About that...Is it true that corruption and hallow can't pass through bricks and rocks? How effectively? Can it go over and under the bricks?

I just totally finished renewing ALL the hallow/corruption in my world. It helps that I have a HUGE world with a bunch of caves and so forth. Also, I hate hallowed jungle.
