Simple question, I'm dumb

In 8th can BSBs carry shields, great weapons, yadda yadda or are they using both hands for their standard. I know regular standard bearers are armed as the rest of the unit but I cannot find anywhere that says the BSB is 2 handed or 1 handed or what?

You can arm them however you want... Within the normal limits. Don't know where it says so though. But they fight with the banner as if it were the weapon he would be armed with.
Or you could strap the banner to his back and let him hold his weapons.
Either way it's the same as a regular standard bearer.

Unless your army book says otherwise, you can arm them however you please. Check the individual books for exceptions. Some of the older books still have restrictions on how you can arm them.

There are no general restrictions beyond BSB's having either magic items or a magic banner.

Some older books may restrict the BSB's other options but you should check the FAQs to see if they were lifted.
