So I REALLY dont like the models for fateweaver, well I dont like the Lord of change models period, but I REALLY don't like fateweaver ESPECIALLY!!!
SO, since I recently found out first hand, that the blood thirster is actually a little smaller than the new daemon prince model, I was hoping my robed and hooded daemon prince, seen here

would be an acceptable proxy as fateweaver to those people of this great and wonderful site. (also, if anyone could tell me the approximate height of the fateweaver model, or better yet provide a reference picture, that would be WONDERFUL)

Also, I want to clarify why I posted here. Its not rules per se, however, I think that I want to make this a permanent proxy and want to see what my fellow gamers think in regards to dimensions as applicable for line of site and other such situations.

AFAIK there is no reason, other than just to spite me, that a TO would disallow it. Especially if the model is the same dimensions..... (ameh.. *hint) :-)

I would be fine with it.

Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.

I thought the DP models were smaller than the GD models.
Different bases too. I may be mistaken :(

The DP bases are on 60mm, I think. I have one in the next room, and it was the size of a Dreadnought base. Height, they probably aren't the same, but oh well.

Well the base sizes need to be the same, other than that, I really like the model.

Also I am not a huge fan of the birds either.

The Blood thirster is actually smaller then the Daemon Prince model (with the exception of his wings standing nearly straight up), both are on the dreadnought base, and the current model for fateweaver is on the same base as well.

We will have to agree to disagree. They look like gigantic buzzards with human bodies. Only the human whose body they have, has an alcohol induced pot belly, scoliosis, and severely deformed legs (not at all complimentary) And their pose is reminiscent of the drunk guy on those "that guy" posters celebrating his inebriation

In casual games, I would have no problem with it.

I would have a problem with it in tournament games. I would forget that it's Fateweaver and not a Tzeentch Daemon Prince. In a tournament, with various Missions (Primary, Secondary, and Tertiary,) a time constraint, and general tournament stress, I don't think it's fair for me to have to remember that model A counts as model B.

The only other reason could be that the TO might think it's too similar to a regular DP, especially if you have other DPs in your list, as your opponents may mistake it for the wrong thing.

But I doubt it I like the conversion, and wouldn't mind in the slightest if you used that as Fateweaver.

Base size is right, dimensions are about right (he looks a little bulkier than Fateweaver actually, at least to me). So long as you aren't running any other models that look too similar, I'd have no issue, regardless of the circumstances.

Out of interest, how would you find if someone made the model a sashimono or a small sign which can be applied to a decently modelled miniature of the correct scale which simply stated "Fateweaver" in a neat and tasteful manner?

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

I can kinda see what Zoned means, in a stressfull game environment it might not be fair to have models that were confusing...

However if it was clearly a different model, possibly from its wargear or colour scheme, I cant see it being a problem. Plus, a little wooden signpost on the base that says "This way to the Fateweaver" might actually look kinda cool lol, and would definatly stop any complaints in my book!

Course in the last game I played, I had to proxy a dreadknight using a 5" tall Jesus "Buddy" Christ action figure...
On an appropriately sized base of course

To truly be a Lord of Change you must change the model every game turn as the demon would constantly be in a state of flux.

I suddenly had a vision on the future where we are moving bases that project holograms around.

To answer the original question, I can't see anyone having a real complaint against it. It is clearly different and follows the all important rule of cool.

Hello there! I saw this yesterday and it gave me the impetus to finally sign up and post, as I have both Fateweaver and a Daemon prince (ok, three Daemon Princes. And a converted Bloodthirster. *ahem*).

I personally have no objection, but then as I just said I use a converted Bloodthirster. If this works, here's some pictures of Fateweaver with two different Princes for comparison. If not, he's actually a little taller than a wingless prince, though his body is far scrawnier.

Hope that's some help for you!

And before anyone says, none of those three models are finished

Ugh, sorry about the fuzziness of the second two. I claim my girlfriends camera and a lack of technical aptitude on my part.

In fact, the real puzzle is how the first one is actually in focus.
