Just watched the ending of the series Homeland, and kind of have mixed feelings about it.
Have to say it was certainly something different; I thought great performances from the leads, and some great cliff-hangers and twists as the series progressed. So, if you haven't seen it yet I would thoroughly recommend it!
And for those who watched it (don't look if you haven't watched yet and spoil it for yourself!)

I've been quite enjoying it, as I'm a fan of Damian Lewis anyway, but it's been sagging for the last few episodes, IMO.

This is my roomies favourite show, she's always going on about it. Usually I take her advice with a grain of salt, but if DakkaDakka is supporting it then I might give it a shot.

I watched the whole series, but i thought it was dog toffee.
As per 24, they overdone the twists until it descended into farse. It started to blow about episode 3, and by the end of the season it was laughable. Culminating in
I'm not watching the next season anyway.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels. |

Must admit I thought it was a mini series and it was good to begin with, but not so sure now. It reminds me of Lost, starts off strong then they don't know what to do with it. IMHO it should of been this:
|
Live your life that the fear of death can never enter your heart. Trouble no one about his religion. Respect others in their views and demand that they respect yours. Love your life, perfect your life. Beautify all things in your life. Seek to make your life long and of service to your people. When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.

Hey this is Barack Obama's favourite show, which means it is probably dull as dish water.
I read the premise Of the show and didn't really bother with it and added it to the watch when the boxset comes out list.

I liked it, though it got a little hard to suspend disbelief for some bits at the end, there. It does have some great actors on it, I've always liked Mandy Patinkin a lot.
Do people in the UK get US based shows significantly after the US? Because the season wrapped here some months ago.

Yes I think they have just shown episode 10 of 12 on TV here.
Not always though, I believe Game of Thrones is running at more or less the same time.
It reminds me of Lost, starts off strong then they don't know what to do with it.
I kind of agree, although I'm not sure any show again can ever be as bad for that as Lost was!
I would have liked to have seen the entire show wrapped up at the end of the first season.

Ok to bump this? Just within the months embargo!
Started on this this week, up to episode 3.
Have to say Im loving it, very fresh, reminds me of The Wire in many ways. Some truely intense scenes in it, loving Sol.
Does it maintain the pace or drop off?

Haha yes, I thought so too he has some pretty good lines in it as well.
Keep watching it Ratius, I thought it was a pretty good series all in all and didn't got on for too long (unlike certain other shows) so you don't really have a chance to get bored with it.

It's based on an Israeli series, that was wrapped up within a single series. I get the impression the US version was originally written the same way, but then had a late rewrite to the latter episodes when they realised they were onto a good thing. You can tell with the addition of new plot lines late in the series to pad things out.
The result is that I was pretty disappointed with the show, despite the quality of the whole cast. I mean, am I left hoping the next series is really good, knowing that'll mean they drag things out into a third series, or do I hope that it's kind of crappy and so poor ratings cause them to wrap the show up?
