One of the Dark elf dragons, Rakarth the Beastlord on Dragon, has been taken off the site
Does anyone know if it was taken off recently (and probably being made finecast) or if it was a while ago and is simply no longer in production?

All I can think is that it may be being made full plastic or finecast, I have one of them at my house and its partial metal / plastic, The lord is entirely metal, TBH with any luck they will revamp dark elves soon, cause i've got a second edition book in my possession and guess what ! The models were the same back then !

The Dragon may be old but I don't think Malekith himself looks too bad.

To me he looks like an elf encased completely in plate armour. Which is what he is as said armour is fused directly to his skin.

The Malekith model doesn't have the charm and nostalgia that the Rakarth model has for me, I remember seeing it in those old white dwarfs from the early nineties alongside that old metal chaos dragon with two heads, both looking amazing

I personally think all of the dark elf models are horribly dated besides the corsairs and the cold one knights, its about time they got some new sculpted figs out for them

All the High and Dark Elf units (Barring the White Lions, Dragon Princes, Phoenix Guard, Corsairs, and Cold One Knights) need to be redone. They're old models and have not stood up well to the test of time.
Plus: gorilla hands.

Dark Elf Executioners and Black Guard look great in my opinion, I don't think they need redoing as I doubt any new sculpt in a plastic kit could match what they already have. Witch Elves need a plastic kit, along with Harpies and Dark Riders. A new Cauldron of Blood might be nice and I can see that being a big plastic kit like the Wizardmobiles for Empire and the two things for Vampire Counts. A new Malus Darkblade so he's riding a new raptoresque cold one.

DE are rumored for some time 2013 last I heard.
Hopefully: plastic executioners, perhaps BG, new warriors(which I doubt), plastic Cauldron, harpies, a bolt thrower that doesn't suck, and plastic witch elves.
I agree that the current DE and HE spearmen have huge hands.

All I want is new plastic Warriors, I hate the hands of the current ones, especially on the spears.. Yuck.
And maybe Dark Riders so I can justify buying some.
The latest cold ones, along with the SOM black dragon and sorceress however are stunning.
