Move to Texas where there is a cinema that throws out people who talk during the film.
I've seen a number of 3D films including Avatar, Tintin, and Up!
Avatar gave me a headache in I-Max though not in standard 3D for some reason.
Apart from the gimmick effect there was nothing that really added to the experience, though and gimmicks get boring really quickly. I mean, I was interested to see it but I didn't feel it was special apart from that fact that it was in 3D and it was interesting to see 3D for the first time.
On the downside, the 3D films tend to look quite dull because you are watching through what are in effect polaroid subglasses. Up! definitely suffered from that.
The fact is that lots of scenes just don't need 3D, while conversely there aren't any scenes which need 3D because cameramen have existing ways of suggesting 3D space by angles, movements, focus, recession, etc.
