Which of the underslung weapon options is generally the better choice? I played three games yesterday using two barges with tesla cannons and was very impressed with how they performed.
Given that I usually face some varient of marine would the ap3 of the gauss cannon be worth more than the potential extra shots?

I have found that you will rarely use the underslung Weapon as the Annihilation Barge can only fire one weapon after moving. I perfer the Gauss Cannon for the Ap and being able to glance tanks on a 6 but the Tesla was the potential for extra shots. Either are good options, just try each out and use what you think suits your list.

I prefer to take the Gauss Cannon, as I don't have a lot of AP3 in my army.

I take the Gauss Cannon, mainly for variety.

I just have to echo what everyone else is saying. I tend to shoot my barges at either vehicles or tougher units. Against vehicles I'm always guaranteed that the gauss has a chance to do something and the couple of Ap 3 shots are enough to damage a stray meq or monstrous creature I run into.

It coudl also depend on who you're fighting. if i was fighting 'Nids for eaxampel i migth take the tesla option so that, if my main gun is knocked out, i can still muller infantry.

Vs Gaurd, it woudl be nice to have something that can at least stun-lock a tank.
