So I've decided to take a break from 40k until 6th ed comes out and am going to focus on my Warmachine. I play Khador and have a bunch of secondhand models that are already painted/partly painted. I want to do something different with my paint scheme, so I need to strip them first. The most popular stripping technique I've heard about is Simple Green, but is this really the best? And also what do you think is the most cost effective way to do it? I'm coming out of my freshman year of college so my funds are kinda limited.
Second: I'm not a very good/experienced painter, so I was thinking an airbrush might make my life easier, especially on getting even coats on large models like Warjacks. Can anyone recommend a cheap one that works well enough? I wouldn't need anything fantastic, just a basic, functional airbrush, but I don't know too much about them so some help would be appreciated.
Any tips you guys could give me would be great, thanks!

Neo makes a good beginner airbrush, its made by Iwata. The airbrush is around $60 and you would want a small compressor, preferably one with a tank.

Is there any benefit of getting a compressor instead of canned air other than not having to keep buying cans?

canned air is expensive, and the longer you use the can the colder it gets(becomes ineffective), your better off with a compressor.

One thing no one has addressed yet is your statement about airbrushing being "easier" Prepare your self for a very steep learning curve. Airbrushing is not easy, it take time practice and skill to paint miniatures with an airbrush. I would suggest starting out by using the AB to base-coat with, even then you will run into some beginner problems. There are loads of threads here that can give you some better understanding of what to expect.
