Of course, they can. This is the whole idea of Radical Inquisition. Walking the line between Loyalty and Heresy.

It sorta like chaos but it where the people of poor grammar and spelling come from. The imperium has a special detachment to deal with them like the grey knights but called English teachers AKA grammar nazis.

Asking for correct spelling and grammar across a primarily text based medium isn't grammar Nazism.

As previously mentioned, yes, Inquisitors can and do fall to Chaos. Some believe they are still pure, and working for the good of the Imperium, but it's hard to argue that position when you've got a Daemonhost at your back

For more information on Inquisitors, check out the Inquisitor rulebook and the Thorian sourcebook in the Specialist Games section of GWs website, they're both available as free downloads and they have an absolute goldmine of information on how the Inquisition operates and the different factions within it.

Seriously, check them out

As previously stated, oh yes, yes they can. For even further information, check out the Inquisitor series by Dan Abnett (beginning with Xenos. If you want quick and dirty information, then throw a Google search (or a Lexicanum search) out for Quixos or Eisenhorn.

Most who fall are so busy thinking that they can't possible be corrupted that they don't even notice they have fallen until a concave of inquisitors pop by to execute him.

It's not so much that they don't think they can be corrupted, it's that they are faced with the true visage of Chaos for so long, they begin to justify ever more extreme measures. Quixos, after murdering millions and organizing cults and creating daemon hosts, etc., was still convinced he was fighting for the Imperium when he was slain.

Right. From what we learn in the Eisenhorn and Ravenor series, it doesn't seem to be so much 'if' an Inquisitor will turn, but 'when'. As proof, we have Quixos, Heldane, and even Eisenhorn himself.

It's a very Nietzsche-esque job, what with the 'Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you' risks.

From how often it gets used as a plot device in 40K fluff, it seems like that is actually all that they can do.

Marneus Calgar is referred to as "one of the Imperium's greatest tacticians" and he treats the Codex like it's the War Bible. If the Codex is garbage, then how bad is everyone else?

Not so much a question of Can they fall? but When will they fall?

ALL inquisitors become radicals and fall. It's as inevitable as hate threads about female marines.

It is when it's an obvious typo.

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

Technically, grammar really only covers spelling when it comes to proper usage of things like contractions, possessives, etc.

Regardless, as much as I'm a language Nazi from time to time, it's kinda silly to harp on people for simple typing errors. Anyone who writes enough knows that simple mistypes, including character reversals, come from inconsistencies in coordination between the brain and the fingers, not from a lack of knowledge on how to spell the word.

So in this case, it's not being a Grammar Nazi, it's just being a goober or a jerk.

Hell, I'd go as far as saying that by the very nature of their profession they are doomed to either die a horrible death or eventually cross the line, I believe that a conversation between Eisenhorn and Ravenor pretty much states this.

Their profession is to gain knowledge of chaos (and xenos) to thwart it. The very nature of chaos is that knowing it is being a part of it hence why Inquisitors will eventually turn Radical if they live long enough, theres a reason why Puritan Lord Inquisitors gain such high respect, they have hundreds of years of experience in dealing with chaos without going over the line.

Who are you talking about cause
Spoiler:
Eisenhorn is still alive

If it's Quixos(sp?) your talking about, he was most certainly corrupt, he made multiple daemon hosts, had a fortress surrounded by warp weaponry and commanded hordes of heretics.

Yes, though far fewer do fall than the internet makes it out to be (the internet is stupid, after all).

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Yeah, I noticed that from reading this forum for the past year. Originally, I was going to have a sister fall to chaos. But. it always seems to create a lot of heated arguments when it happens. What seems more likely a inquisitor falling or a sister?

Out of those options - Inquisitor.

They have far more contact with warp-tainted artifacts, and some see no harm in using them for their own purposes. Once they start down that path it's a bit of a slippery slope.

Both have happened, pick one and go to town.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Well, here the thing. There are parts in fluff where Sisters have fallen but A lot people don't agree with and choose to ignore it. I'm either going to have a sister from ordo famoulos (Yes, it's real it the diplomatic army of the Sisters of battle) or Ordo Xenos inquisitor fall.
