What are the possibilities of a Deathwing Librarian. I know that there are chaplains specifically assigned to the Deathwing as with every other company in the DA organization. I guess what I am looking for is I am building a fluffy Deathwing list and since GKs (Draigowing) will be a very common opponent I am thinking a psychic hood could really help limit the strength of the paladins. I do not however want to include a librarian if the fluff would not call for one. No I do not care if there are better options I am just looking for some feedback on the topic. Thanks!

Here's the jist of it:

The "Deathwing" can be broken into two categories.
1) The individuals who are granted access to Terminator Armor, ex: Librarians, Chaplains, Captains, etc who have been inducted within the Deathwing.
2) The First Company proper.

They won't be considered to be part of the formal organization of the second, but they will be considered "members of the Deathwing" for all intents and purposes..

Perfect. Thank you for the simple break down. I know that librarians fall in the Inner Circle of the chapter just did not know where they would fall in as being attached to the Deathwing. Deathwing Librarian it is then!

The origins of why the Deathwing have bone white armour is called the tale of Two Heads Talking. Two Heads Talking was one of the Librarians wearing terminator armour who helped purge one of the worlds the Dark Angel uses for recruitment.

I believe that due to the job that Librarians do (keeping the history of the chapter), all Librarians are members of the Inner Circle, even if that is true there are definetly examples of Deathwing Librarians.

In the army list Librarians get access to terminator armour and are members of the inner circle. The only reason you don't see "Deathwing" librarians is that Dark Angels officially follow the Codex Astartes for their colours and therefore all librarians are blue.

Again, that's a bit of a double-part question.

Is he likely to be a member of both the Ravenwing and Deathwing?

It would mean he's fairly advanced and highly trusted to have been elevated to that ranking, but it's certainly feasible.

Not both just one. I was thinking of having him be in ravenwing since he hasn't proven himself that much to be with deathwing. Plus right now im the nly DA in our deathwatch group so they wanted a person from the ravenwing or deathwing for so awsome fluff factor. Even though my techmarine is kinda a true dark angel (he hates abhumans and has the ability to choose one thing to get perfered enemy and he has traitor marines even though he probably won't fight any in the campaign.)

The DA Codex explicitly states that techmarines are never brought into the Deathwing or the Inner Circle as their loyalty is split between the Chapter and the Adeptus Mechnicus.

Ravenwing troops are brought a little bit into the super secret deal, but not all the way, so its feasible you could have a techmarine permanantly attached to the Ravenwing. Maybe one who has LEARNED TOO MUCH!!!1!!111

Thank you. I figured that they couldn't be part of the deathwing but I just wanted to be sure. Plus I didn't want my character to really be part of the deathwing since that would be kinda over the top. Now I have to find a way to explain how he joined the ravenwing. Plus what are good Dark Angels name. I though deathwatched used kinda old english names and stuff. Like is Mithos a good name for a dark angel?

I think personally that Mithos is too Greek sounding. I would go for a name with more Hebrew type background as many of the other characters in the Dark Angels book seem to originate from there. Many of the names of the characters in the Codex have names referencing fallen angels from the Bible. Belial, Sammael, Azrael. Fitting considering the Dark Angels have the "Fallen" who have strayed from the Emperor who could be considered a scientific manifestation of God. Whatever though now that I am rambling. You get the point. Just thought it was ironic that the ones who did not fall have the names of Fallen Angels from the bible.
