So, just started playing Fantasy 8th. (Just finished reading the rules over the weekend).
I haven't played since 6th.
I remember from 6th that as combat would wear on, if your unit had more ranks/files/models whatever it was (can't remember been years) that while combat turns would progress, your models would eventually envelop or wrap around the unit to get more and more models into the fight.
Seems now, from the rules, that there is no such animal anymore?
The reason I am bringing this up is it seems really odd in game play that say, a Giant for example on a base that is only about as wide as 2 normal models, assaults into a 10x10 grid of <insert whatever>. Then, the only models that seem to be able to attack the giant are the 3-4 touching him, the 3-4 behind those touching him (and the 3-4 behind those in this case due to horde). Yet, as combat goes on and on, none of the other models ever move into a position to hit the giant?
It seems weird because it would seem that the rest of the unit would eventually wrap around and surround the thing, but in this Edition, it looks like you just stand there while 9-12 or your 100 models do something and rest play tiddly winks on the side.
