How do you guys store you figures? I've got a buch of old foam type storage like the GW cases and one like a Battle foam case. But lately I'm liking the idea of using magnets on the base of the figs but I'm not sure how to do it. Obviously a strong magnet on the bottom of the base but what about the case? I don' t like the foam because I think with putting figs in and out is rubbing them too much. Magnetic one don't touch anything. Any ideas?

That's one of the few problems with Infinity figs. They can't be handled as harshly as others I think. I'm thinking of getting a plastic box with handle and then glue a metal sheet on the bottom if I can find one the right size.

I've saved a couple of the styrafoam packages that you buy your eggs in. I put a little blister foam in each little egg spot so they ride in comfort Not great I know, have to make sure I hold it level which is a pain. Thinking about getting the little infinity battlefoam bag.

Regular foam miniatures trays.

Mine are the old Crystal Caste trays (because I have a battlehive 1 case). They currently occupy one half of an aluminium briefcase (4 trays) - 1 tray per army (Aleph, PanO, Yu-Jing and my generic futuristic/modern regular infantry guys - the Ariadna counts-as). The other half is a block of 4" pick and pluck foam holding the TAGs, REMS, Bikes, and other 40mm based stuff.

In a pinch, I can fit 10 of these 1" trays into this case - or use the Kaiser Rushforth trays 1" which are a perfect fit.

I store most of my stuff in a glass cabinet from IKEA. Apart from that I have a big carrycase from when I worked at GW; only decent staff Christmas present we got. That said, the foam that came with it is the stuff of nightmares so I'm replacing it all with Battlefoam.

I have a bunch of GW cases, but the thing I use for bringing around one army at a time is just my gun case. I have an H&K Case that I don't use for said gun, so I put the models in it instead.

I can fit a Mag, two remotes, and a bunch of infanty in relative safety and comfort. And 4D20. All in a little case that's only about 10x6?

Fits in the backpack no problem.

I go here: http://www.tablewar.com/

The guys (Todd and Doug I believe) were at Adepticon but as players. I wish they had a booth there so I could buy their display towers so wouldn't have to pay for shipping.

Les from Awesome Paint Job made a video of their unit trays here.

One caveat: if you plan on using these custom trays for Infinity is that the holes for their 40mm trays are smaller than Infinity's 40mm bases. I mentioned this to the guys but they don't plan on changing them. Who knows, maybe if there's enough demand for one they may change it. For now their solution is to use the washer diorama display which uses washers. You can see a vid (also from Awesome Paint Job) of it here. For this they have 2 40mm sizes: one for Privateer Press (interior diameter of is 41.5mm and exterior diameter is 51.5mm) and one for 40k (interior diameter of 40mm and exterior diameter is 50mm).

What can I say. I need money for other stuff.
Cardboard is from my laptop box and the foamy thing is actually just sponge for washing cars and stuff. And it fits to my backpack perfectly.
That is my small Nomad force which I plan to paint during the Painting league. I use this method for all my miniatures and surprisingly I never had a problem of paint scratching or anything breaking (although I am careful with my minis).

The cardboard might be little bit on the cheap side, but the sponge seems pretty legit. I assume it doesn't contain any abrasive agent or soap?

I just use small plastic toolboxes filled with foam. They're pretty cheap and function well.

That is quite an understatement there. It was meant to be temporary solution but it seems that in my case temporary is flexible term. I thought to get some plastic food containers but I can't find the appropriate size. They are either too small or way too big. Sponge is without abrasives or anything else, and it works really well for me.

I used a shoebox for my Warhams way back (padded ofcourse), and that resulted in some weird looks from elitists.

Food containers can be great. There's a yoghurt that I absolutely love, and it comes in buckets (~1 litre) with a lid and even a handle. One of those will easily fit a small force. Not sure if you're huge fan of beli sir, but doesn't that usually come in trays/buckets of an appropriate size?

I do the magnet method. I get 100 1/4 inch neodymium (strong!) magnets off eBay at a time. The I buy sheet metal for heating/AC ducting from home depot and cut it to size with tin snips. It's inexpensive and so are the snips.

Then I glue this into a cheap plastic storage bin. Works really great all my figures are extremely secure and I can even violently shake the bin with them in there and they won't budge.

On the downside the magnets are so powerful, at times the figures bases might be attracted to one another, causing them to instantly snap together! This has made more than a few opponents go WTF when they move their figures around mine causing a snap.

I will have a shiny new Battlefoam bag when I go to Gencon and buy that stupid-awesome merc and TAG duo.

Yeah, Scarface is full of win. From the color scheme to just how awesome the model is. Cordelia shows a lot of potential as well, she could be my new favorite female sculpt if done well.

But thia brings me back on Topic. How does the Battlefoam stuff measure up? I'm used to GW cases, are the Battlefoam bags tough enough? Hows the foam work for all the different sized models? I notice the seem to have a foam tray for everything under the sun, which is cool, but I haven't gotten hands on with them for a quality check.

So I guess that question goes to Bluedagger.

Cheap?!
I dont think you know the word cheap!
This is cheap!

Its the box the miniatures come in, just cut out space for the miniatures in one piece of the foam, some soft toilet paper in the bottom (If its good enough for your backside its good enough for your minies! ) and your done!
Miniatures are secure a wont budge in there and the foam is soft.

I have the battlefoam infinity beta bag but i didnt like it, miniatures was not secure enough for my likning, foam was to hard and to rough for infinity miniatures. I prefer my own cheap solution then the bag.
The bag is now used fore my Dystopian stuff instead.

This will probably be one of my next purchases. Right now my Infinity stuff is in a spare Hormagaunt tray. Need their own case.

Does it still come with the Yuan Yuan model, or was that a limited time thing?

edit - saw it's limited, and those 750 likely went fast.

Don't worry, BF have a new figure out for Gencon (and this one won't be restricted.)

Magnets in the base of your mini, and a sheet of steel paper in the bottom of a plastic tub works great. I know a lot of Warhammer players do a similar thing with their regiments. Causes less damage than foam, but will obviously take more space up.

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

I have a carry case, but I was thinking of adding a couple of magnets to the bottom of each base and putting in a metal plate to the foam to extra secure them. I have a single magnet on most of my CSM models and a metal tray to load them on while waiting for a game - most of the plastic models are pretty secure with that, and the Infinity models are roughly the same weight, so 2-3 magnets should make them stick very well indeed.

At home I have four display cabinets, for my minis. As seen here.

Infinity will have a shelf once finished.

For transporting, not really a factor at the moment, but typically I have used GW foam cases in the past, but I wrap the figures up in additional tissue paper for added protection.

I'm definitely big on cheap lol. Magnets are really cheap too. I can get a lot of them for a few bucks. I'm thinking of getting the box below. The top part should fit all TAGS nicely and the bottom can have more figs. I could even ad another small box on the bottom for templates dice etc.

The thing I like about the magnetic way is that they don't touch anything! Not even foam. I've already tested a few by put on a single magnet on the bottom. The Remote with only one magnet will stick to side of my metal desk easily! Love it. Now there's Climbing Plus lol.

So I figure I'm going to put some magnets on the bottom of the box so a metal plate will stick to it and it will be removable. I can even make the metal plate look cool by painting it or putting something on it.

This. Although my old chaos army has it's own Citadel army case for now.

When i'm on the move it's whatever is safest and closest to hand sadly. Boxes stuffed with loo roll and foam is normally the order of the day. One day i'll invest in a proper carry case.

I'd use an Ikea cabinet if I had one within cooee of home.
(Nearest one is 2 hours drive away, the cabinets won't fit in our car anyway and they don't deliver outside of that city's metro area.)
So I'm currently using a kitchen pantry cupboard (it's not IN the kitchen, it's just one designed for this purpose) we got from a local furniture store).

It holds all my miniatures away from prying eyes and hands and locks them away out of sight (and of mind).
