After playing DW lists for a while Im thinking about starting to use the Vanilla codex again. I want to build a flexible gunline army and for that purpose I have come up with this list.

HQ:100
Libby (NullZone, Avenger) = 100

Troops:530
10xTacticals (MM, Mg, Combi-M) = 185
Rhino = 35

10xTacticals (MM, Mg, Combi-M) = 185
Rhino = 35

5xScouts (Camo) = 90

Elites:710
5xTH/SS Termies = 200
LR (MM) = 260

Rifleman Dread = 125

Rifleman Dread = 125

Heavy:340
ACLC Pred = 120

ACLC Pred = 120

TFC = 100

Fast:320
2xTyphoon = 180

MM/HF Speeder = 70

MM/HF Speeder = 70

Ideas:
Tacticals try to funnel the enemies into the fireing lanes or if they take their chanes blow them up Melta speeders will most likely be used to try and destroy stuff earlie that I do not want to hit my lines. TFC can barrage things pouring out from destroyed transports and also provide a techmarine which gives it and the Rifledreads an improved coversave. Typhoon hide behind a ACLC Pred and since its a squadron getting cover should be fairly easy. Phobos pattern LR provides some additional long range dakka and can deliver the termies to where they are neeeded to protect my lines. Not sure what weapons to give the scouts, sniper rifles are truly horrible so might actually give them CCW so they can protect themself somewhat better vs fast moving MSU units.

Any comments are much welcomed

I'm pretty sure you have 4 heavy support choices there. You can't have an LR, 2 preds and a TFC. Also, I think its better to drop the MM because your going to be moving anyway.
Get the scouts some snipers and a ML if you have the extra points.

The LR is a dedicated transport for the Assault Termies so does not count towards the number of HS slots. Which MM is it that you suggest that I drop? The LR one?

The tactical squad ones. Although i wasnt sure about the LR. I'll check the other forums about that.

Your list looks more like a Vulcan list than a vanilla one. Have you considered going with Vulcan to TL you MM

3 scoring units 1 that is a five man with no ride, is not enough at the 2 k level.

Thanks for the comments!

Vulcan would indeed bring some nice twinlinking to the table. Its a tough call, while the Termies would become more versitile losing NullZone makes it more of a wash up.

So what Vulcan does for an additional 90 pts is twinlink 2 Heavy flamers and 9 Meltas in addition to bringing himself. Certainly appealing but I would lose 1 typhoon (or the scouts?) and the psy defence.I think Ill have to play test and see what works out for the best.

As for the MM on the tacticals, I guess I could take a ML on one squad so that I can combat squad it if I want to. But I find the melta bunkers suitable for this type of gunlinish list. If you are suggesting that I drop the heavy weapon completly then no, its never a good idea to not bring a free heavy weapon.

Regarding the comment on the number of scoring unit, 3 scoring units is one more than what I used to take. Tacticals are really meh and vanilla marines does best taking as few troop choices as pratically possible. Allthough I have enjoyed my 4 scoring un its as a DW player I think 3 scroing units will suffice.

Your list is fine and a very good list as is and without Vulcan. I would not worry about troops. Capture one objective, contest all others.

Since you consider dropping a MM for a ML, my only other suggestion is to re-think the land speeder squadrons.
I believe that squadroning the typhoons is not the best option. They are fire bases and shooting both at the same targets may be a waste. Keep them separate, stick them behind a predator and fire at will.
The suicide speeders though, may be better squadroned, since you can reliably take down the annoying target with 2 MM shots.

Just my thoughts..

P.S Where do you consider to put the Libby? If in the Raider, Avenger is wasted, if with the termies, he needs termie armor and SS.

If you are worried about droping MMs or MLs consider whether the tacticle squads will ever stop moving and get a chance.
