OK, completely, absolutely, positively hypothetical situation (seriously):

Let's say that there is someone who is lazy and just waters down his/her paint pot rather than doing it the correct way and when adding a little bit of water to the pot he/she was distracted and overfilled the pot terribly. Is there a way to fix this. I figured that this completely, absolutely, positively fictional character (seriously, it wasn't me) could simply leave said paint pot open for a little bit in hope that the water will evaporate and even out the pot.

After severely beating him/her for breaking one of the Painting Commandments, what would you suggest to him/her?

Not that I need to know. I'm just curious.

Seriously.

You could, I assume, buy the same paint and add the same quantity till you make it thick as you want?

I have a feeling that water/paint in a pot makes it evaporate or something, or at least my ultramarine blue and regal blue mix is getting weird day by day o.O

You can just leave it for a while and the pigments will settle out and fall to the bottom (especially the "foundation" or "base" or whatever GW call them now - colours).
Might take several weeks. No shaking, no picking the pot up and looking every 6 hours. Put it down, close it up and let it sit for several weeks. Buy more paint if it's one you need to use.
Then you then can just syphon out excess water with a syringe.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Leave the lid open for a while and let the paint dry out a little?

Also, given your post, I'm going to say riiiiiiiight... hypothetical... your friend...

This is great for those who airbrush and are worried about their paint becoming to watered down, if their like me and dont have a good place to put the extra paint besides back in the pot and are to cheap to just get a new pot.

That sounds good and as a one time thing I doubt it'll change the color much.
