Alright, I got intimidated today after watching another vinilla marine player get stomped by chaos. I tried to think of an idea so I dont die as much, and two vindicators jumped to mind. I would like help with how to use-general tactics with these buggers.

Also, Im running vulkan atm, so all-around twin linked multi-melta and flamers. I'll post my list, hoping it looks good enough to kick some chaos arse. (necron arse also would be good )

HQ: Vulkan-190pts
Elite 1: dreadnaught (MM, DCCW and heavy flamer, drop pod w/ locator beacon)-160pts
Elite 2: 7 Sternguard vet (5 combiguns, one meltagun and 1 heavy flamer Rhino)-250pts
Troop1: Tactical squad (10 man, combi-flamer, meltagun, rocket launcher, rhino)-220pts
Troop 2: Tactical squad (10 man, melta gun, combi-flamer, rhino)-220pts
Troop 3: Tactical squad (5 man, Razorback w/ lascannons)-165pts
F/A 1: HF/MM speeder-70pts
F/A 2: HF/MM speeder-70pts
F/A3: MM Attack bike-50pts
H/S1: Maverick predator (Twin linked lascannon, )-105pts
total-1,500pts

Underlined is units I dont have atm. I was thinking for 1,750pts I would add 2 vindicators to help bring a hammer.

So, list look good for vindicators?

How would the vindicators get up front fast enough?

Is one Vanilla dreadnaught going to be a good enough distraction?

One Dreadnought will get hit with a melta gun and turned into a molten metal puddle.

a MultiMelta attack bike costs 60pts

If you are bringing Vulkan, you should be bringing TH/SS Terminators.

drop the 5man w/ Razorback. It's a kill point. Vanilla Space Marines aren't good in small units.

Any Predator should have sponsons.

Is there a permanent stickied thread for Chaos players to complain every time someone/anyone gets models or rules besides them? If not, there should be.

Whoopsie X-X messed something up.

The 5-man squad is sitting in a lasback next to a predator w/ twin linked lascannon. I feel the cheaper lascannon build might be good against most of the builds at my GW

I will bring assault termies soon, but not enough $$

The MM bike is indeed 50pts. it's base is 40pts and multi-melta is 10pts.

The dread..... suicide melta drop pod?

Your drop pod doesn't need a locator beacon if nothing else is deep striking later.

Remove the melta gun from your sternguard, go combi-melta or nothing. You are removing the models special ability to use the special ammo.

Toss the free rocket launcher on your other 10 man squad, no reason to not do so.

The 5 man marines, solo landspeeders and attack bike will give up too many free killpoints, I suggest either removing some or at the least putting both landspeeders in one unit.

Vindicators will help you in this list, as you are a shooting list it's scatter won't normally be able to hurt you. Toss in some TH/SS guys as well and it looks golden. Make sure they get a landraider, and that it has a multi-melta!

Alright, thanks for more help, juraigamer.

I thought of more units to add to make a 2,000 point list, Idk if it would work or not.

I was thinking of a marine biker squad with an attack bike, x2 melta guns and a combi-flamer on the sergeant for 170pts, I would have 80pts left over for either filling out my 5-man tactical squad and adding a plasma cannon to them, or get 2 more sternguard with combi-meltas, or getting another MM/HF speeder.

Cant decide
