Under what if any circumstances can you exceed three units of heavy support?? can fast or elites be sacrificed for a fourth heavy support choice? talking in the point range of 2000. i only use one fast and one elite, squads but have three heavy units with one unit each, want to see if i can spend my last points on a crazy LiftaWagon Hell the THing only works 50% if the time. Thanks

There used to be armies with rules like that but as far as I know, there are none that can do it today outside of Apoc.

on the forum. Obviously

Planetstrike allows you to take up to 6 HS choices if you are the defender.

Orks sort of have 4+ HS choices, since they can use Meks to turn Deff Dreads into troops and nobs can take battlewagons as dedicated transports.
Not sure if that counts though.

Other than that, there are no exceptions that I am aware of.

For a friendly game I'd be happy to face a non-FOC list, If you have 1 HQ and 2 Troops, I don't mind what else you bring.

IIRC you don't actually HAVE to use the FOC anyway, but I could be wrong.

Stay heavy!

Basically i am at 1925with
Warboss, Big Mek, 2 boyz mobs 1w. DT Trukk, medium sized Nobs mob (troops under warboss) Deff dread (troop under Mek), mega nobz, deff copter, kans, mega dread, meka dread and a lifta wagon with 75 points to spare, My Big Mek, Tork'd Nutz, wanted a zany walker army with some crazy weapons (Lifta) and still use my mega nobz, so the very cool Dread Mob in IA8 is out, (have the book its awesome except the cybernobz, they ain't so great i be thinking)

Yeah, in terms of verbatim rules from the book (unless your Codex has a special rule excepting it), you are limited to 3 Heavy choices. Now, of course, as previously stated, Apoc and Planetstrike change this.

But, the rulebook does state that these rules are always subject to change within whatever group you're playing with. If you want to play friendly games where you have 1 HQ, 2 Elites, 1 Troop, and 6 Heavies, that's up to you! Talk with your opponents, and see if they'll let you change it up. Personally, though, I like sticking with the FOC in normal games, simply because there are already enough spam-happy armies out there that actually follow it...

Try Cities of Death or Planetstrike. They use modified FOCs for varying scenarios.

If I recall correctly, chaos terminators can take a land raider as a dedicated transport which doesn't use up a heavy slot, though if you were doing lots of that, you'd be playing at an apocalypse level, so it wouldn't matter.

If you'd count that, Black Templars can get a dedicated LR Crusader for every infantry unit, most Space Marine codices can get a Landraider as dedicated transport for at least one Terminator unit.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Imperial Armour Volume 11 has a Farseer you can take which gives you an extra Heavy Support choice, while dropping two Troop and one Fast Attack choice. This would only help if you were playing Eldar.
