Reet, I thought I'd do me a list to see if I could interest myself in the new Necron's. So far so good!
Any CC would be great, but I'd like anyone who does offer advice to bear in mind that this list is based around their transports and heavy firepower.
But enough of my prattling lols, here's the list:
HQ: Necron Overlord: Warscythe, Sempiternal weave, Mindshackle scarabs, Phylactery, Phase-shifter, Resurection Orb.
Royal court:
Harbinger of the storm: with Lightning Field & Ether Crystal.
Harbinger of despair: with Nightmare shroud.
Harbinger of despair: with Veil of darkness.
Harbinger of despair.
Troops: Immortals: x10, Tesla Carbines, Nightscythe. HoB w/Nightmareshroud here.
Troops: Immortals: x10, Tesla Carbines, Nightscythe. HotS here.
Troops: Immortals: x10, Tesla Carbines, Nightscythe. HoB here.
Elites: Deathmarks: x10. HOB w/ Veil of darkness here.
Heavy Support: Doom-scythe.
Heavy Support: Doom-scythe.
N.B. Overlord goes where necessary.
Army Total: 1750pts.
Wha-do-ya think?

Couple of quick suggestions.
If you are going to use 10 deathmarks, why not split into 2 groups of 5. Then you will get to mark 2 units instead of 1.
I'd suggest you drop 5 deathmarks and get a CCB instead, because that overlord is going to be wasted without one. Also, if you are looking for transports and firepower - got to have a CCB!
I haven't used doom scythes because they die really quickly and in my lists I need my vehicles to hang around a bit longer to absorb fire (I have much smaller troop units and need to direct fire away from them) Although many people don't like Doomsday arks, they are a bit tougher. Or, why not 1 Doom scythe and 2 Annihilation barges?

Nice to see a Deathmark/ VoD cryptek squad. That said I only use 5 Deathmarks as the template is the real gem there and the extra DM's don't really add all that muchso that is a place to skim points, and as MarkCron said a CCB would be very nice.

Woot a reply lols...
Anywho on a serious note, thanks for the imput but here's my reply to your comments.
The Deathmarks are meant to be one unit due to the Cryptek with the VoD joining them to fly about the battlefield to shoot anything I may not have range for.
As for a CCB, the Overlord is meant to join any one of the three Immortal units, plus it doesnt have the deepstrike rule, which the entire list above has one way or another.
Doomsday arks don't really fit the theme of an attack force rather than an established tomb world list either. Annihilation barges were an option, but again, because they lack the deepstrike rule, I avoided them.
other than your thoughts that the Scythes are too fragile, what other thoughts do you have? Automatically Appended Next Post: Hmmm ok I may have to try out just using a 5 man Deathmark squad, and get an annihilation barge over a CCB, I'm not sure why, Im just not keen on it :/

Hmmm. Must have misinterpreted how you are planning to use the deathmarks.
For me, the benefit of the despairtek with the deathmarks was to get 2+wounding on the Abyssal staff - the unit is effectively disposable - pick a target - drop within 12" (hopefully) - blast it with everything - die. If it lives another round - gravy.
Using 10 Deathmarks for range is a bit of a new tactic for me. I thought that the Disintegrators were rapid fire weapons, so in order to move and shoot you are going to need to come down within 12 ". Also normally, I find that the deathmarks end up being assaulted during the opponents next turn, which for a group of 5 is ok, not sure I'd personally commit 10 (that's a lot of points).
Wouldn't it be cheaper and less risky to use another squad of Tesla immortals with the vod instead?
Re the overlord, appreciate you can't deepstrike a CCB, but if you are just going to stick him in a group of immortals (who already have a 3+save) you could probably save some points on the weave, warscythe, phylactery. I'd keep MSS and the shifter for some wound saves but use the staff to get some extra shots off before the assault.
Maybe rather than a std overlord, use Anrakyr who will upgrade one of your immortal units to Eternals and give you some chance of MitM opponent armour. Course then you'd have to use a normal lord with orb in with the Immortals.
Actually, thinking about it, if your plan is to deepstrike everything, you need some counter assault or your troop units are only going to get one round of shooting. Understand that you want to keep troops and transports, but I think you need some wraiths. Or, maybe swap the deathmarks for lychguard?
hth more than the last comments!

Actually thats some food for thought, thank you. I was tempted with Illuminor Szeras for similar reasons to Anrakyr tbh.
I also see your point with the deathmarks, which is why I was tempted with making it a 5 man unit and committing the points to an annihilation barge instead. I had thought about Triarch stalkers for making shooting more effective.

Errr, you may want to hold off on committing to making a deep strike list until we find out what the new rules for "fliers" will be like (June 2nd).
Otherwise, looks interesting.
I would also recommend Anrakyr. Him + Szeras + combat Lord with ResOrb + 10 tesla Immortals = vicious little deathstar @525 points (and an extra 100 points would grab them a Night Scythe to get them into the thick of things faster). Now, that's a lot of points, but these guys wreck house in low point games.
Throw in a Death&Despair squad, some Wraiths, Scarabs, all the usual suspects, etc., and you have the beginnings of quite the strike force.

Yeah thanks for that, it's kinda what I was thinking anyways, but also I won't start the list until the night/doom scythes are released. Hmmm the deathstar seems a nice option. May try a re-working of the list later and see what I can cram in ^_^
Thanks for the imput ^_^ Automatically Appended Next Post:
