That one unit, in any army, that is just your favorite. It's a pleasure to use, it's a pleasure to look at, and its fluff is awesome.

My personal favorite tends to vary, but at the moment, there is nothing more amusing than seeing an Ironclad Dreadnaught drop-pod down and tear through your opponents back line. I have also been known to enjoy Assault Terminators blitzing out of a Land Raider, as my name suggests, and turning a gunline into taco meat. That one's always a winner.

I have one random assault sergeant who's built up quite a bit of fluff on his own - mostly from surviving every single game, no matter what.

I call him Sergeant Bob.

As far as official fluff goes, I like Mephiston.

My Crimson Fists usually contain two Sternguard squads with powerfists, and one has Pedro attached. These would be my favorites, I think. They always end up at the center of the fight and they rarely disappoint.

Back when I played Space Wolves, it was most definitely my Wolf Guard Terminators. This was before they had a plastic kit, so they were all converted with parts from the Space Wolves sprue, Chaos Marauders, and Chaos Terminators for a brutal look. Their paintjobs haven't held up well, but I still love that unit.

My Nobs. They're at the very top of my most reliable units that I own across all armies. They destroy other deathstars, dish out tons of wounds, tons of attacks, tough as hell to kill, and have their own Wagon.

Kharn. He makes games fun by bringing some orkish randomness (and krumpin'!) to the table. It's always great to see him punk assault termies and enemy HQs, even if he gets eaten by a power fist eventually.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

Seraphim. Easily my favorite looking model, paricularly the Superior with a power sword. Don't have an army to actually try playing with them.

Gameplay wise the Keeper of Secret is probably my favorite. It's my favorite looking Daemons model and it's a blast on the table. Dashes up to almost anything and rips it to shreds.

On an IG note. Baneblade. Win. I have no idea how they perform on the table, but as for looks and fluff, probably my favorite tank. And, of course, the OG Kasrkin.

For me, believe it or not (given I don't play IF at all), its Lysander. Awesome fluff, excellent model and stats, just plain fun to use too.

I've got one painted up in 3rd Company colours, running around with 10 sternguard.. and I am really starting to appreciate his nastiness (and rerolling vengeance rounds).

I've also got a custom made master of the forge which I really enjoy... but that's not what we're talking about here.

The first time I used my seer council (back when they were a unit) it killed just about everything it touched. It eventually ran out of things to shoot. Eldrad in particular has never died yet (at least not outside of fluff).

My friend's grotesque (named Freddy, if I remember correctly) also managed to take on a life of his own; the guy wrote a heap of stories about his shenanigans with the archon (now lost).

This is mainly because he uses his CCS as a human shield, but I still love the guy.

My favorite unit in the imperial guard codex is the eviscerator priest. I really slowly stopped including them as they suffered worse than other things by my opponents adapting to my power blobs, but it makes me sad to make them go.

Gamewise, though they are worse than they were in the old codex, they're still pretty cool. Nothing like making 42 guardsmen reroll to hit, and I've definitely eviscerated vehicles before.

Fluffwise, they're the most awesome unit in the book. Crazy old man with an eight-foot-long-chainsaw-sword charging into battle. The scream of his whirring blade matched only by the screams of the priest's righteous hatred.

Plus, nothing is quite as awesome as punking a land raider with a single S3 guard model waving a chainsword. I've gotten more than one incredulous look as that blood talon dread or demon prince is knocked flat by a crazy old man.

It would be great if 6th ed changed something so that I could include them again, rather than being forced to spend those points on autocannon HWSs.

To be honest? Wraithguard!

A lot of people say they are too expensive, but I ran a unit of 10 of them slogging across the field, conceal and fortune on em. My opponent spent the entire game trying to kill them, and finally succeeded, but by then it was far too late

Also, it's satisfying to see the look on an opponents face when I tell them their statline and rules

So many things out my Daemons, Wolves, and Necrons armies to choose, but my favorite unit is everybody's favorite W2, 2+/3++, Fearless, FNP warrior of death, the Lone Wolf.

I have been on the receiving end of SO MANY SWEARS because of those guys.

Seriously, if you cannot fail a 2+/3++, they are just nasty and keep mulching through things. Once they finally get that one wound to stick, the kicker, Eternal Warrior, really takes the cake. I have had entire IG gunlines at 1750 empty into one guy, deal one wound, him proceeding to punch out a Russ, then a Chimera... and then dying in CC with guardsmen?!

My favorite was one walking across a table through a wall of Devilfish eating Railgun shots from Broadsides and the nasty shots from the Fire Warriors... punched through a 5 man Tau squad, punched through a devilfish... and then assaults Broadsides... to die. Without swinging. Was the biggest from both players!

At 2500, I tend to run three. I just don't care for scouts or wolf guard. Having my three lone wolves (TDA, CF, SS; 85pts!) is all I need to have a fun time!

I think the fan stories of Kharn the betrayer is what really got me into 40k. I'll always think of him as Kharn the pretty cool guy.

Game wise I love Broadsides. Not much to do other than point and shoot. When you're crammed between a pair of the most powerful cannons attached to a set of flimsy legs while getting charged at by a bunch of racist armor plated codex-thumpers there isn't much else to do.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

From eldar I dig swooping hawks.

But the favorite? So many choices. I think I'd have to say ork war boss. Krumps, bashes, splats....I'm a fan of being blunt, and you don't get more blunt than a 10 foot tall screaming green hulk with iron claws and mouth plate laughing while he runs through a crowd of death and bodies.

Howling Banshees. Okay, so they may not actually be the greatest thing in the Eldar Codex (I still think users here on dakka severely undervalue them) but gosh darn it if they aren't the single most kickass thing in the game. And they look damn fine while doing it.
