I am taking part in a teams tournament in the near future, and need to know what Tyranid build would best support the following:
2 KFF Mek,
30 slugga boyz w/ PK pole nob
30 shoota boyz w/ PK pole nob
Deff Dread with 3 CCW, Skorcha, and armor plates
Deff Dread with 2 big shootas and armor plates
2 killa kanz with rokkit launchas
2 killa kanz with grot zookas.
I have 1000 points to work with, and have access to the following models. i can purchase a few more, but only have $100 to work with.
1 hive tyrant, not yet assembled.
2 warriors, one assembled as a prime with scything talons and one of the guns, the other not assembled. (i know i need at least 1 more to use them as a normal unit)
8 gene stealers assembled with 1 set of talons, one set of claws.
13 hermagaunts,
12 termagaunts

Tunneling Trygon

At 1,000 pts there are no better units than tervigon and hive guard. Hive guard would be great with the ork list as they can hit the transports and the orks assualt the contents. Outflanking stealers can be useful for anyone who tries to hide from the ork charge.

I play both nids and orks and I must say from the looks of it your team mate has a somewhat well put together Ork list
And he'll most likely be the one carrying your team. I dont think your inventory will allow you to build a solid enough Tyranid army unfortunately there's a lto of things you dont have in your inventory that's actually good on it's own and not enough units to bring synergy in the way you'll need.
So the best you can do is try to trade/buy for Hive Guards. Your Ork team mate's biggest flaw is a huge lack of AT weaponry while his kan/dread wall will take a LOT of damage from AT weapons, any wise opponent will notice that only his rokkit kans can do any damage to armor at a distance and if they only aim at those and take em out early his list just becomes a slow moving fortress of death that can be avoided.
So you'll need to bring 6 hive guard split into 3 units of 2 and try to walk them behind his walkers to gain cover and to snipe out enemy transports at the front lines.
For troops you can take 1 unit of genestealers with toxin sacs and either 1 unit of hormagants or termagants.
Termagants only for the purpose of saving points for the hive guard and to camp at an objective.
Hormagants if you plan on using that Tyranid Prime which you can attach to the hormagants and with the hive tyrnat if you give him hive commander he can make that unit outflank.
I think buying a tervigon is a bad idea for you since you only have $100 bucks to work with. So play a support role and try to coever ur friends weaknesses.
The hive tyrnat can easily go winged with venom cannon hiev commander and old adversary. That'll let him chase down or shoot down fast vehicles trying to escape the wall while also engaging enemies easier in combat to hold them long enough for ur orks to come in and handle their bizness.

The biggest problem I see for you is just making 1000 points. Minus the tyrant, assuming the termagants are stock, the hormagaunts have TS and AG, and the stealers have TS, you have 455 points. While we can load up the Tyrant as high as 330 points.....we'd rather not, but may have to. A tervigon would be fantastic, but if you buy one, spend the rest of your money available on as many of the 5 packs of termagants as you can....you'll need around 22-33+ honestly. An average roll nets 10.5 termagants...and if you don't have the models, you don't get the spawn. The Hive guard is a great point, but you'll never get to 1k points like that. Personally, for points, I'd buy a Trygon. You can run it as a prime, and with AG and regen(because you have spare points right now) it'll run 275 points. Automatically Appended Next Post: After that, I'd buy another box of genestealers. They are one of the best units that 'nids have, and there's no reason not to have 20-30 of them. I have over 50 myself. So you've got 270 left. Hive Tyrant and another 8 stealers. Drop the prime for points. Drop regen on the Trygon. If you have the points and can proxy, a warrior as a tyrant guard would be nice....and necessary for non flying tyrants, especially over 1k points.
