We talking whte foamy stuff used for packing? Construction adhesive (no more nails, liquid nails) works excellently for this one

Or the higher density stuff used for models? Liquid polystyrene cement (can be bought at ANY reputable hobby store) works fine for this one.

In that case, pretty much any plastic model glue can be used on it.
I prefer the liquid kind, myself (Testors, Humbrol, Revell, Tamiya all have this product).

You can use super glue, but it will be brittle. You can also use 5 min epoxy for it. I mainly use the liquid glue chromedog mentioned for most anything dealing with plastic..

I just use PVA glue on it. Works perfectly fine.

I use a very thin almost evaporated layer of plastic cement to help bend the sheet to shape I want.

The GW plastic glue will work fine, it probably just more expensive than other brands.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

He did... its all the same stuff, its just that the sheet stuff is a
solid material and the stuff used for packaging is expanded polystyrene (XPS).

Somewhere in south-central England.

Liquid plastic cement is the best as the GW style contains dissolved polystyrene which will cause blobs under thin sheet.

You must be careful when cementing the thinnest sheet (0.25mm) to use the minimum of cement as an excess will tend to soften or dissolve the sheet.

Do not use E-6000 one-part epoxy cement with Polystyrene since it reacts chemically with it.

As Flinty said, foam polystyrene (expanded polystyrene) and plasticard sheet, and most model kits, are all the same substance. Some model kits use ABS plastic, which can be cemented with polystyrene cement.

Another substance often used for model buildings is foamcore board, which is a foamed plastic sandwiched between thin card. This should be glued with PVA, and the exposed foam edges sealed with PVA before painting.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

If it literally is styrene, I use plastic glue.

Revell's works a treat.
