So my newest army is vanilla space marine bikers. Ive made a bunch of lists and tried most of them out and this one seemed like it had the most potential. My main concern with this list is that I only really have one combat squad, and they always get targeted first. Ive tried to add the scouts as a second melee (threat) that can score/be a pretty good flamer threat. My other options include running 2 captains/2 command squads, and then have one full size biker squad, and then a 2nd smaller biker squad; OR take a sternguard squad in a drop pod that could hopefully provide enough killing power to not need a second combat squad. Ive tried the list below a few times and i have been having a blast zooming around with all the meltaguns, so in the tank killing department I am just fine, again my only concern is the fact that I only have one real melee threat. So here is the list, please take a look and let me know what you think you would run. Thanks

Lol you have no idea what it feels like to rapid fire/meltaspam with almost the entire army at the same time lol

your weak point is your land speeders sure they are fast but they will die from bolt gun fire witch is sad the only one that is worth it is the landspeeder storm for anything deepstrikeing and i would just have something with long range shooting or just more bikes or something i think this list is good though

The armies I mostly play against include Blood Angels, Necrons, Grey Knights, Dark Eldar, and occasionally chaos marine and orks. I find the the typhoons can stay relatively safe with their 48 inch range and provide some much needed firepower to bring down necrons/blood angels and could do something against units like rhinos if I am desperate enough, and the template option does pretty well against less resilient infantry such as orks and and most of dark eldar. I also always run my army as one main formation and only break formation to run down serious threats so the landspeeders are able to keep up with the rest of the army, but I can see another squad with bikers (possibly with plasma?) also filling this role pretty well.

oh if thats the case then go ahead but i would get devistators insted because its more shots

hell you could probably get a drop pod and fill it with 10 man devistators with 4 mm witch would be silly

Yo that idea looks really cool, also just thought of adding a squad of ABs with either MM or HF but the devastators again will provide more firepower, more than a squad of sternguard would... but that brings up another option: sternguard with a butt load of combi weapons. AHHH there are so many options that all seem pretty decent I dont know to do :<

well see witch one you can fit the most troops in then see witch one you can fit the most fire power in

Well one thing I just thought of is the fact that the devastators can not shoot their heavy weapons after disembarking from either a transport or in this case a drop pod. Keeping that in mind possibly taking 5 in a rhino with a hunter-killer missle could keep up with the rest of the army and utilize the 2 fire points instead of spending points on an immobile gun that grants deepstrike, but im not sure it would be better

you mean razor back

I was thinking razorback but then I get no fire points, but heck i did the math and 3 landspeeders with thypoons=10 devastators in a rhino with 4 MM/ or ML, and a hunterkiller missle ( 5 points over 1500) = 6 devastators in a razorback with 4 MM/ML/ HK missle/ Storm Bolter/ and the lascannons ( 9 points under 1500)

so ntohing would work then no rhino give them all miss lanchers and put them at the corner somewhere or just keep the bloody land speeders

heck even with the week armor of dark eldar you can use heavy bolters (not recomended agenst anything else)

Ok this one is pretty interesting: Drop the scouts the landspeeder storm and the landspeeders and grab 1 5 man squad of devastators in a razorback with lascannons/ 4 MM and then 1 5 man squad of sternguard in a razorback with lascannons and 5 combi weapons

yes thats amazeing the sternguard because they can shoot 5 meltas but 1 time and a lass cannon for just killy ness

Good article and it made me rethink a lot but really with the powerfists? From what ive gotten from my bikers is that they really cant preform well even with PFs against anything BA can throw at me, and they really cant put dents in necrons either. I usually just try really hard not to be in combat with anything but my scouts and my command squad, but I think i will give the scout sergeant one, it seems to make sense. Right now I am considering dropping the command squad and just getting more bikers and more fire support.
