Yesterday, my dearest dad, who worketh to the bone in a recycling centre (the dump to you or I ) brought home a tonne of Warhammer 40k, WFB, and FoW stuff. Alongside it was the AT-43 rules and a couple of campaign books. I haven't had the chance to read them properly yet,, thus all I know is:

Its out of print (I think)
There are 4 main factions
Space Apes!!!1

Can anybody tell me (1) the scale of the models. Are they 28mm or higher? (2) What are the rules like to play? Are they any good, or are they clunky and slow? And finally, (3) where can I get my hands on some Space Apes?

Its 28mm. If you do a quick check around the forum you can probably find some reviews on the rules (I havent played them). Not sure how shipping to the UK works but Miniature Market has quite a few AT43 models. Most at dirt cheap prices

Thank you, I had a quick flick through the campaign books and I am impressed!

It's a great game, pity no one's grabbed the rights to it yet.

It's well worth trying to track down the usually(but for some of the rarer/more useful stuff) cheap models for it.

Awesome dump grab by your Dad!

As regards AT43 scale, the majority of AT43 figs are larger than 28mm.

Here's a couple pics demonstrating this:

They'd probably look ok on the table fighting against other heroic 28mm figs (though not mixed in the same unit) but they're definitely 32mm+ in size.

The ape figures are considerably larger than the ones above, but being sci-fi apes it doesn't matter how big they are.

Happy to help. I don't want to necessarily put you off the AT43 stuff ( I have a few of the mini-mechs set asside for future projects) but just be aware of what you're getting into.

Use them with the FUBAR rules. Only one page of main rules and another extra for rules clarification.

Keep up the fight!
