Subject: 1500 Necron Competitive Tournament Lists

I have played two tournaments with similar Necron lists that have placed 1st and 4th. There is a 1500 point tournam[/b]ent coming up this Saturday and i have narrowed my decision down to four lists. Please post your opinions on which list you think i should go with and additional changes to make.

I vote for list 2 the smaller scarab squads and extra war gear on the Overlord just don't add as much as the extra wraiths. And while you do sacrifice lances and a CCB for the third one you still have plenty in the Anti tank department. And wraith saturation backed up by 3 Annihilation Barges is incredibly effective.
So I think 2 is the best take all comers list of the three.

Have to agree, list #2 seems to be the best.
Funny thing is I'm running something similar to list #3 for a 1750pt tournament this comming weekend...no Scarabs but I've boosted the Wraiths to 6 each with 3 Whip Soils and no Particle Casters.

I vote for list 4 because of the 2 CCB vs only 1. It would be nice to have SW or PS on the Overlords, but not sure I would sacrifice an Anni Barge to get it.

Jeremy I like list 4 solid group if wraiths and two ccb is good, also having 2 solar pulses.
Also list 2 is good cause the 3 squads of wraiths

Either list #2 or #4
But, if I had to pick, I would take list #2. 15 Wraiths can pull off obscene things. Scarabs are good, don't get me wrong. I love scarabs, but Wraiths are one of the best units in the game. Scarabs can wreck the balls off of a vehicle, but Wraiths will do that (to any vehicle that isn't a Landraider) plus wipe the board with any normal infantry.
In my incredibly humble opinion, 5 Wraiths > 1 CCB

I think i am going to narrow it down to list 2,3 and 4 now. Keep in mind that list 3 is 95% identical to the Necron list that won the most recent UK Masters Tournament. If any of you don't know what that is, its the biggest tournament in Europe where only the top players are invited. List 2 i really want to play because of all the wraith models i just purchased and painted, but i feel it will not have enough tank killing power. If i run into a few land raiders i may be in trouble. List 4, i like a lot because i get to keep the two solar pulses and a good chunk of wraiths. I also retain my two main tank killers (overlord in ccb). The main thing i don't like about list 2 and 4 is the loss of the four crypteks which give me all the str8 ap2 shots which wreck grey knight terminators and vehicles alike.
