This is my new Lord Commissar, i cant seem to get a picture where ever thing on him is in focus but i think he looks pretty cool. This is also my first power weapon thats not just steel type stuff.

some of the surface of the model was kinda bumby but i couldnt tell till i put paint on it not even the primer just when i started getting it painted it looked kinda bumpy :(
i think it looks better irl but anyhow.
hope you like it!

Thanks for your comment.

i use an airbrush for the sword i find its faster and easier and looks better with an airbrush than a brush at least for me. The sword was painted light grey then airbrushed with a dark blue then i mixed in a little white to the blue and layered that on where i want the white to be and then went back over that area in a few layers with the white till its nice and bright in the middle after thats done back to solid dark blue and darken up the edges farthest from the white.
hope that helps!

my first power sword that i did like that trying to advance my skills/techniques.

I wanted him to look much like the box art but i changed the fur on his cloak to be brown instead of grey and the scarf i wanted it to be more blue than the box art glad you liked it too.

color list for the sword
VMC-medium sea grey
VMC-medium blue
VMC-white

I'm really liking the blue sash! Nice work there. To be honest, this is an amazing piece all over, and I feel bad offering any kind of criticism (but I'm kind of gonna anyway!). I'm not a huge fan of the sword blade, but that's because I don't really like that style of blade-painting. The vast majority of people do though, so pay me no mind, since most folks will love it! As a side note, the hilt of the power sword looks absolutely dynamite! I wish I could get mine to look like that.

Agreed, I really like the sash, the whole model looks great but I really don't like the grip and hand guard on the sabre. Other then that it looks great and I think you did a great job.

Thanks for all the comments !

@jimsolo glad you like the hilt it drove me insane the inside of it is a terrible mess of a mold and the outside was kinda wonky glad it came out good! about the sword im not a huge fan of the style of power weapon either but i did choose it because i think it goes well with the blue sash kinda ties it into the model a little, i normaly do a metal type sword kinda grey/darkgrey to white/lightgrey or grey to blue style which i usualy like more

@baseballclu im not super happy with the hilt either just something about it other than what i already mentioned iono what just blah i wanted to do maybe a steel type of look for it but it didnt fit with all the other gold bits ya know?

my second finecast is a champion of chaos specifically chaos khorne exalted hero! cool model cant wait to paint it its gonna be a midweek break from painting guard cant get enough of the model though it has made me plan to start a chaos warriors army this month!
