Subject: Skythe Necrons at 1850: will it stand a chance at all?

The Necron Codex has made me think of picking up a bunch of flyers once they come out. I want to play a superfast army, mostly for the fun of it, but also want to stand a chance agaisnt most opponents
So what do you think the below list can do? Do I have a chance against some serious opposition? What kind of opposing army lists will be my nemesis?
Here is the list:
Anrakyn on Barge
Overlord on Barge, mindscarabs
Royal Court: 1x Lance-Tek, 1xSolar-Tek
Royal Court: 1x Lance-Tek, 1xVoltaic Staff-Tek
5 Warriors, Night Scythe
5 Warriors, Night Scythe
8 Immortals (Eternals), Night Scythe
4 Wraiths, 2 Whipcoils, particle beamer
Doom Scythe
Doom Scythe
Doom Scythe

Yep, that's a lot of fire power there. May want to consider Imotekh instead, for longer night fight coverage. Get rid of that Particle Beamer on those Wraiths, though. It has no business going on them, as it is pretty much useless (firing it will slow them down, and slow Wraiths are dead Wraiths). Use it's points to get another Whip Coil... actually, you should see if you can free up enough extra points to get a 5th Wraith in there (anything less than 5 Wraiths has a tendency to die quickly) Also, why is the Storm-tek in the army? (and I'm REALLY hoping when you said "Overlord on Barge, mindscarabs" you also had the decency to give him a Warscythe)

+1 for Imotekh
+1 for more wraiths
Maybe subtract a Doom Scythe and instead of Night Scythe go for Ghost Arks with the warriors. They are still skimmers
Armies that will cause problems will probably be Eldar (Dark and regular) and Tau. They all have reliable ways of taking out our skimmers.

It's a particle caster on the Wraiths more than likely, it's a pistol weapon and has no effect on Wraiths speed. It's there for wound allocation. The other weapon is a transdimensional beamer, which Wraiths shouldn't take at all.

yup.
(I saw "beamer" and immediately thought, "NO! Get that sh*t off of him, now!")

Imotekh could be useful, but where save the points? Also, this is avery aggressive list that either throws almost everything forward immediately or goes all reserves. I don't think Imotekh adds much to that.
I like Anrakyn in this concept. I can just boost him forwards T1 and still use Mind in the Machine. This is a nice scare factor for opponents I think.
@skoffs: Mercer read that right. I meant the p. caster, and it's there for wound allocation.
Overlord should have listed Warscythe
Storm-tek goes with the Immortals. He is dirt-cheap and will reliably stop a vehicle from shooting if I run into one

umm, careful there. Thanks to the updated FAQ, he has to get out of the Command Barge to use Mind in the Machine.

Plus when you say 'boost' I take you mean 12" and not over 12", if you mean over 12" then that's flat out and a model cannot disembark

uhm, I might be blind, but I can't find anything on having to disembark to use Mind in the Machine in the FAQ.
We are talking about Necrons FAQ 2.0 Jan2012, correct?

Nope, I think it was the general 40k rule book FAQ. (powers and abilities can't be used while embarked).

I would argue that, since Mind in the Machine is not a Psychic Power, the FAQ has no bearing on the ability.
In theory, Anrakyn could even shoot his arrow in the same shooting phase (that is assuming the CCB did not move flat out)

the shooting is fine,
Mind in the Machine is accepted as not.
don't take my word for it, though-

It's in the rulebook FAQ, mate. It says you cannot use a special ability from out of a vehicle, so Anrakyr must bail out.

Thanks for the link. 10 pages of discussion on the MitM topic , lol!
Seems like Anrakyr is not the best choice then.
So what do you think of the list with a second Overlord replacing Anrakyr?
And more thoughts on possibly bad match-ups?

I am a big fan of Imotekh - in so many games I have never ever gone to field without him, But, he is not a friend of shooting lists and this one is almost all shooting.
I don't see the restriction on Anrakyr to be that bad. Sweep at cruising speed, then jump out, control some tank, then assault and pop it or another. You got to be aggressive with barge lords. The cover save will not hold out for long, so do your damage and hope it is enough to pay for the investment and then some.
This list in general requires massive aggressiveness anyway. It is the khorne berzerker version of shooty necrons. Don't count casualties, just go for max damage. If you try to play it safe, Av11 will not last long even with living metal and non-open-top.

That's exactly what I want to try and do. Good point on Anrakyr, thanks.
The plan will probably be to flat-out everything towards the enemy, if possible overloading one side of his lines. Then I need to survive one turn of shooting before the Overlords and Doom Scythes can wreak havoc.
Going second, I'll probably need to all-reserve and deepstrike in as much as possible. I'm not sure that's a good idea considering the rumored large size of the Doom Scythe model. The alternative is setting up and counting on night-fight. Not sure which option is better.
