On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Hey guys, I know this was posted in the other thread on N&R but thought we could have some discussion about it here!

Beasts of War have got a sneak peak at the new Pan Oceania remotes:

There is also a video on there (sorry don't know how to put that here, so here is the link: http://www.beastsofwar.com/infinity/infinity-sneek-peek-panoceania-mulebots/

So any PanO players who will buy these? And anyone have any comments on how good they will be?

Mostly makes me wish Kameel remotes didn't overhang their base so much. I'll never use Kameel remotes since I hate the little base extensions they need. If they were more like these, I'd definitely buy some.

In regards to the Kameel you can certain bend/adjust the legs to make them fit on the base and cut off the extensions.

Otherwise I love the new Pan Oceania Dungbots...I mean Mulebots...

I'm getting on a serious Remote kick at the moment. I want them all. I particularly like the PanO remotes, but I've ordered the Kameel so I can do those first.

I don't mind the base-extensions, I find them amusing, but valthonis is right, just bend the legs if you don't want to use them. It makes the models a little taller, but check out Cave_Dweller's models.

Looks pretty good to me. If a little tall.

I seriously found the biggest, happiest Raichu picture I could find.

Every time I scroll past it I giggle a little.

My oldest daughter loves Pokemon, so I laughed too - but I've already had that joke played on me enough as I demand a Raicho T.A.G. - I wish CB would've chosen a different name!

Hell I still love me some Pokemon. At least the oldschool stuff.

That'll be my 1, I promise.

Alrightalright. So back on topic, let's look at the Mulebots.

They have the Baggage rule, so if you look at all the other bots with that Rule, the Kameel, the Traktor Mul, the Pangguling, the Salyut Zonds, and the Probots, I find their design interesting.

The first two, the Kameel and the Traktor Mul's both have actual Bags for their Baggage. The Probots and the Zonds have big honkin' containers bolted onto them. And then you have the PanO and the Pangalangalangaling... or whatever, that has what... like tubes? Where to you store stuff on these things?

I assumed the tubes were for storage, looks like the caps would unscrew to access the stored stuff...

And just because...

Haha dungbots. Someone has way too much time on their hands.

What does the baggage rule do? Makes you retreat less or something? I've yet to actually use my remotes...working up in Canada in the bush ATM.

Means you retreat at 20% instead of 40% (this is why the combine doesn't have them. Morat rule already does this).
If it's killed, though, it's worth extra VP to the enemy.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

I can't take credit for the dungbots, just had to share.

I wouldn't be surprised if Morat gets them later as the Morat rule and Baggage rule could potentially stack.

EVO ones I don't think they'd get as I recall it being strictly a human technology (why it doesn't work against combined).

Baggage doesn't change the hard set percent to retreat but rather adds 20pt to the army's size to determine the retreat value.

Baggage is not quite what Chromedog said. The model is worth an extra 20 VP, which also affects your retreat threshold.

Basically, each model with baggage means you can lose 12 points more before retreat... but counts for 20 points more if it's lost. In other words, don't let them get blown up.

EDIT: Ugh, ninja'd.

EVO still lets you get the Icebreaker bonus against Combined Army, and you get the ability to group-hack as well. You just don't get the bonus that lets you skip Immobilized and go straight to Posessed, as Humans can't Posess a CA TAG.

Haha sorry mate! I will change the title

I kind of like the idea of baggage mules, they have some uses in their own right (along with being generally cheap in pts) but I think they would also be pretty useful for making special missions and scenarios, things like that.

That is entirely their point actually.

In the next book there are supposed to be missions and the like which utilize the little baggage bots.

It would be nice if Baggage remotes didn't need a hacker to take them. At least the non EVO ones.

On topic: I like these better than that Haqq ones. I'm thinking of converting them to represent Kameels, but I feel like they're too PanO-ish. Any ideas on how to make them fit the rest of the army?

I dunno about that, I love the Haqq ones! They have a great pose and the EVO remote actually looks like an EVO remote.

And I like the giant backpacks hanging on the side, they look exactly like the packs my Muyibs carry, so it keeps the theme across the army very well.

The only thing I don't really like are how they sit over the edges of the bases. But I got over that upon seeing how sturdy they are. I definitely don't like that they sculpted gravel onto the little extensions. They didn't do that with the Marut, so I don't know why they thought it was a good idea to give these base extensions herpes.

Nothing a file can't fix.

I think most of them are exactly alike in stats so it wouldn't be a far stretch for them to have a bought PanO remote. Especially a GK mercenary group.

Is the fact that the "April" releases were shown in May mean that the "May" releases will be pushed to June?
