That would be very cool... certainly would get us some style points!

Mostly, on my phone.

Beautiful work mate. The lights on the chimera are really elegantly finished, love the generator and all the little touches on it especially. Impressive.

Very nice job Solar. I do have a question though. Are we allowed to have models on display that aren't part of our actual game armies? I don't think I saw a single display that had "extras" on the board. Then again, there aren't really any rules for displays are there. I guess I never thought about it. How many penal legion guys are you going to make?

Yeah I saw several.. A GK fighting deamons display and if you remember the DE guys with the really nice painted Lamenters ( with spears and greek helms ). We should have enough other material ( such as the book ect ) to highlight the playable armies. Also remember the winner the previous year.. the seige of terra.. I sure the nobody was playing the Emperor!

I'm havent figured out how many to do. Roughly a box of inf of each Cadians and a Inf box of Penal guys ( jungle figher figures ) They will be used in the Wardens MOAB as the IG neutral forces on Friday night ( the night Huron leads us to victory !) The gun enplacments are for that battle as well!

That would be cool but it's already glued together and I don't have time to re-do stuff.. maybe the next one!

Its a nice small terrain peice that could be used for lots of scenerios. Be cool if they made a large version of one as well.

So I put together some IG for the Display last night and how relieved to know that the IG arms don't line up any better than the SM ones do! What a mess !

Pictures of the PDF arm of the Reapers Guard tomorrow!

Okay Solar, tomorrow was yesterday and I don't see any Reaper Guard pictures. I need my fix man!

Sorry.. took the day off to dig out from Snow storm. The picture I took was so grainey that I could not post. There is a thing called over photoshoping!

The 20 Reapers Guard PDF from the moon of Aksuna is complete ( except for the bases ) and I hope to have the Penal troopers finished this weekend!

These will be the IG units used in the MOAB.

Ok.. some more images of the items for the display .
Pictures aren't great but you can hopefully see where I was going. They look great in person. Still need to do the bases

The Reaper PDF.. I went for a Medieval/ police feel with shiny helms and armor. Regiment from the moon of Aksuna .

As they are based on a SM chapter planet thus they are strict beyond measure. Even minor Infractions can land you in one of the many Penal companies. Need to dry brush the boots and finish the bases.

In between the figure painting I started working on some more of the extras( in additon to the other stuff on the previous page) going into the display ( mostly on the loyalist side )
Primed black

Some Items Base colors…needs weathering.

For scale…

Wow mate - so crisp! You really make the bright colours pop - what green(s) did you use? Like the horde of penals too, and the tin hats are beautifully shiny.

I love the Penal troopers. A perfect counterpoint to the clean and crisp guardsmen.

Thanks.. I think its normal GW colors but the photoshop adjustment is set too bright. Things will smooth out once I weather them (Oil washing does wonders for this)

Here is some more in progress on the display. The rubble has been particularly difficult to coat ( so the foam doesn’t dissolve in to lethal gas ) The grey is painted ( will be the base color) to identify the areas I failed to coat )

A closer view..

View of the Breach…

Looking down from the outer wall

Views from the breach

The Destroyed vehicles - these are just basic placements - Actual LR tank is facing the wrong way!-- It is also partically painted to match the IG color scheme.

The rhino ( which has light within the flames). This is currently Painted as a destroyed Lamenters Rhino ( painted after pic taken )

Yeah thanks for the hoard... The Rhino was nicely destroyed! Will just have to add some card stock around it so it looks blasted apart. Did you want any of the stuff back or at least the stuff I didn't use?

If it is a removable piece, I can use it on my table and would be cool to have team terrain. If it's stuck to the board, all your's. Feel free to keep a few of the pieces you paint up too (dont know how much you used), as you put the work into them.

Don't be impressed it was a quick FoW smoke I bought at AC last year. I was trying to see if it would work with the flickering light inside the tanks. When I get them finished I'll spend some time getting the right mix of colors. Still looks appropriate to do for the display.

I quess anything is removeable, for sure I'll get back to you the things I don't use. Not sure what I'll use on the loyalist board yet.. Waiting for supplies.

As Promised…
Here is some more pics after a round of painting some details. I thought it would be fun to see my AC army on it for effect and scale. This is the secessionist side only and you can imagine as heavy of an Infantry list we all are this will really look like an invasion ( the board will fill fast!)

Overview shots…

From the other side

Looking from the breaches…

Here comes the Marines…

Blurry … sorry. Burning Lamenter Rhino (now with lights!)

Advance to the first obstacle - Thought the metal tank barriers came out nice and wethered! ( at leas they photographed well! )

Next Objective – take the bunkers!!!

Hope you have enjoyed the show!

Sill lot of painting to do. Mostly High lighting and details, talos and flora, scaffolding, armor plating of the bunker walls, finish the outer wall! there is also a lot of other items missing ... sandbags and barrels ect... My plan is to be completely done by the end of month so I can get to the Loyalist side!

As always comments/ suggestions and critique are welcome and encouraged!
