I've heard Necrons can be a very fun and entertaining army to play.

In fairness you are already playing the army known to be the most fun.

I reckon guard are fun as hell. Nothing like consigning wave after wave of conscripts to their doom and talking in a bad fake russian accent as you do so.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Tau. You point towards your kroot hidden in a jungle and say these magic words. ''These guys can actually assault.''
All game long your 12 kroot are gonna be shooted at while my railguns and battlesuits shoot away. I love it.

I never fail to have a good time with the Orks, whether going against or using them.

Thats true. It is hilarious when you get attacked by 3 deffcoptas and they actually succeed in killing one whole fire warrior. xD

Pretty subjective, but really there are no fun armies - only fun games. You've got to ask yourself what you enjoy about the game to know what army you're going to have fun with.

yeah, and the most fun "kawabungaaa!" Necron CC armies are actually sorta orky anyway. But we can't turn things into squigs, that's a bummer. my goofiest friends play orks.

Daemons are, IMO, the most fun to play. But they also require a meticfethton of skill and creativity. but its so funny when you take 20 BL charge assault termies and win.

It really depends on your idea of fun.

For me, fun means bombastic and close combat. Bombastic being fast, in-your-face armies like drop pods or bikes or deepstriking/outflanking craziness, while close combat for me has always been a much more satisfying way of beating people than plinking with guns.

Basically, for me, the most fun is the opposite of armies that just sit in their deployment zone practically never moving and just sitting there rolling dice to see which of my models are removed.

Of course, what's "good" and what's "fun to play" aren't always in congruence, and given that winning is also fun...

Every army can be fun. Depends on the build, your play-style, and how well the two line up.

I find mechanized Eldar to be ridiculously fun since they let me take every fight on my terms, for instance.

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

For a comic army, you got it with Orks. They can do the stupidist things right in the middle of a battle. Nothing is so much fun as a Shokk Attack gun teleporting itself around the battlefield.

Eastern Frontier Exploratores
224th Astra Legion (main army)
628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)
1212th Foederati Cohort - Jokaero (cause I like apes with guns)

Probably Orks or horde IG. Honestly you can field 330 models at 2000 points and remain competitive simply because the enemy can't kill your men fast enough. For added lulz you can add conscript squads once you reach the limit of 30 infantry squads.
