Does the techmarine manning the TFC count as a servitor unlocking techie? because he is a tcehmarine, is listed subsequently as techmarine gunner and the also is a normal techmarine should his gun blow up.

There are two sides to this.
1. Servitors require the unit "Techmarine" so no.
2. Servitors require the model Techmarine so yes.

You will not find a consensus here. Personally I say no, based on the FAQ which (to me anyway) infers that, Servitors are of the same FOC as a Techmarine/MotF, and it spells out that they do not use an Elite/HQ slot on the FOC.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Lost in the warp while searching for a new codex

Even if the TFC techmarine unlocks the Servitors he will not be able to join them tho (as long as the gun is alive) so ou will midlock 50% of the time.

there are a lot of threads on this already, use the search first before starting new topic.

2. "Techmarine gunner" is a "Techmarine" so yes, BUT the servitors can not join the Techmarine until the TFC is destroyed.

If you can't see the difference between the two situations you might be best not participating in the rules discussion.

One is a unit that references an external model as being necessary in the army list before they can be taken, the other is suggesting you can take upgrades from an entirely separate army list entry.

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

It's really 50-50.

Until we get an FAQ, assume you can't. Safer that way.

The two situations are not even remotely similar.

The Techmarine Gunner arguably allows you to take a unit of Servitors because the servitor entry says you can take the unit if you have a Techmarine. It's not an option from the Techmarine entry, it's a restriction in the Servitor entry that governs when they can be taken.

Your Boyz mob Nobz are Nobz. But they can't take Waaagh! Banners because they don't have that option. You don't select options for Boyz mobs from different mobs' unit entries.

The closest equivalent is Fabulous Bill and his amazing feats of bio-engineering. That references "Chaos Space Marine squads", which being in the Chaos Space Marine codex could refer to either the specific unit or any unit in the codex. The FAQ has clarified that it means the specific unit, so it's probably safer to infer that when a name can be either specifically the name of a unit or a generic classification it means the unit. Still just an assumption though, so could go either way if they ever decide to FAQ it rather than just making a whole new codex.

Who is "Fabulous Bill"?

I could not find him in the Chaos Space Marine Codex.

Fabius Bile has an upgrade called "Fabulous Bill". It's mostly an aesthetics upgrade (gives him pink armour, a sllight lisp, and a love of shrubbery).

That does not make any sense.

He was referring to Fabius Bile then, Got it.
