Hello all,
I'm looking to sculpt some kind of monster, with a view to getting it cast up to sell on but I'm not sure what to go for. I'm looking to make something that could possibly be used either for WHFB or 40k but I want it to be decently sized. Anything from an ogre up to a giant really. Obviously I don't want to step on anyone's IP toes so it needs to be something that can be pretty generic. However, I also want it to be something that people might actually be interested in buying so hopefully you could give me some advice on any monster-sized holes there might be in the various army books and codices out there!
As an aside, I want people to know that I'm not doing this as a money making scheme. It would be nice if I earned a couple of quid off it but my primary motivation is as a modelling project with a bit of fun micro-business thrown in!

How about a massive Stone Elemental or something?
That'd be a challenge to look alive and stoney and decent.
Maybe model some moss or lizards in the crevisses?

Should probably mention that I want to make something that's in a codex/army book but that doesn't yet have a model to represent it. Would be cool if you could tell me what book it's in as well so I can go read about it...

I'm not sure how much of it could be crossed over into WHFB, as I do not play, but there are different dragons, big-snakes, and wolf-y things, etc. I'll send you better pictures if you are at all interested.

I probably didn't explain myself very well! I want to make something one could easily use to represent something from GW's unreleased range but would also be generic enough to not get me sued!

What about a giant Pterodactyl or something?
I dont play a lot of fantasy but I think Dwagons and Griffons are the only really large fliers in the game?
This guy could easily fit under Lizard men or perhaps any generic wizard riding him to battle.

You could do a model for something that GW might have released but it is out-of-date or just bad, like a (brings up GW website) treeman, dark pegasus, Spite the cold one, maybe a Vermin Lord, abyssal terror, maybe a minotaur... there are others, depending on taste.
