Hey guys,

After being schooled in my last thread, I want opinions on this list:

Necron Overlord, Wraithscythe, CCB

Necron Overlord, Wraithscythe, CCB

Necron Lord, Sempiternal Weave, Resurrection Orb

Necron Warriors x20

Necron Warriors x5
Ghost Ark

Necron Warriors x5
Ghost Ark

Canoptek Wraiths x6
Particle Casters
Whip Coils

Canoptek Wraiths x6
Particle Casters
Whip Coils

Canoptek Scarabs x10

Comes in at 1800. Where do I spend the last 50 points? (Three More Warriors?????)

Paul

You have no ranged Anti Armour what so ever.

You're going to need some at 1850.

Things to drop:

The Necron Lord - worthless tbh, a Phaeron would be better here.

Lose the Particle Casters on the Wraith. Wraith need to move every turn to get into combat.

20 Warriors, while nigh impossible to shift, is a huge points sink that won't do enough damage. I'd consider dropping their number to nine and taking a Harbinger of Destruction for Anti Tank. Stick them in a Ghost Ark.

Things to take:

Annihilation Barge - the best shooty unit in our codex for the points.

Harbingers of Destruction - these are your most basic anti tank. You can make Ghost Arks go after tanks if these guys are mounted in them alongside your warrior units.

Stalkers - some people hate them, but their targeting rule is great with some. Of the necron anti tank shooting.

I generally equip 4 whip coils and no pistols. Run them at whatever looks scary/whatever you want to tarpit. Warriors in arks are almost always better than warriors on foot. More protection, plus when combined with a stalker is just brutal. Glances out the wazoo, plus your Stalker's melta or heavy gauss.

Given you are aiming for a foot list wraith wing combo, I suggest you dump an overlord in the CCB and get Imotekh instead. Put him with the warrior blob.

For ranged AT, as Puscifer said, Lanceteks for the Ghost Ark warriors. You will need to keep the Ghost ark near the warrior blob to keep regenerating and be aware that if you get the blob into CC it will probably lose and run off the board (taking Imo with it.)

Imotekh + Lanceteks in the Ghost Ark would be better, yes?

It protects the key dude while he can still lightning everyone and the same goes for the Lanceteks.

Only downside is that it says SHOOT ME FIRST in big Neon Green lights.

Sure, but they have to be able to SEE the Neon Green Lights!

But you would also need to see him to get much use out of the Lance-teks... and with Imotekh in the army, that's going to be very unlikely.

So, in this list, drop lanceteks and with balance of 50 points add spyders?

If all the lanceteks go, there will be no ranged AT other than e barges.....who can do their stuff while it is dark

I get it. Better stay dark for two turns then, need a chronotek

Do not take Imotekh in a shooting list.

Since you are taking scarabs, you may want spyders for farming.

You may want more warriors in the arks, say 8, then join them with a lancetek and a pulsetek each. That gives you 2 lances for shooty AT in each ark. As the lances are assault weapons, you can fire them even if the ark moves.

If you want the blob of warriors, you may want to give them a phaeron overlord with scythe, mindshackle, and res orb. A couple of sergeants (little lords) with scythes is likely unnecessary. But, the foot overlord means you should ditch his CCB, and perhaps spend the points on an annibarge.

Good luck.

You can only have one Cryptek per unit.

No, you can have 1 Cryptek per royal court per unit. So, if you have 2 Overlords, you can have 2 different royal courts, which allows you to take attach one Cryptek from each royal court to a unit.
