Ok so i got my hands on an airbrush the other week and i was wondering if anyone could identify it for me. It doesn't have a name or logo or any identifiable markings for that matter and i wouldn't have the foggiest clue of what to google to even begin to find out what brand it might be. I am starting to wonder whether its just a generic cheapo brand or not.

EDIT - Forgot to add my additional questions in.

1. When watering down paints what consistency do i want them to be? I use GW (both old and new) and Vallejo paints. Also can i use water to thin down paints for an airbrush or will i need something special?

2. Regarding masks/airflow. I have 2 windows on separate walls, if both were open would this create suitable airflow to require the use of only a basic surgical mask or would i need something a little more hitech?

3. How can i tell if it has all the bells and whistles? I.e: duel action, etc etc?

4. Lastly, is this little unit enough to get me started?

It appears to be exactly like the AB-130A I use. Think it's a chinese clone of a Paasche Talon. Should be more than adequate to get you going. Ensure you have cleaning gear - some AB cleaning brushes (like tiny bottle brushes), q-tips, cellulose thinners etc.

Consistency of semi-skimmed milk. Water would be fine for doing miniatures, deionized water would be better.

Small jobs it'll be fine. It's not as bad as using spray cans, if you start doing armies of tanks you might need better ventilation.
3. How can i tell if it has all the bells and whistles? I.e: duel action, etc etc?

Duel action means you push down on the trigger for air, then pull back for paint flow. Single action gives paint and air with one push. Duel action gives a lot more control. It looks like a duel action, a cheap Chinese clone but that's ideal for miniatures, I bought one similar as there's no way I'm sticking GW paint in my iwata!
4. Lastly, is this little unit enough to get me started?

Looks fine to get started. As mentioned before cleaning is essential, so anything that helps here is a plus.

Cheers mate. My mum has some teeny tiny specialist pipecleaner type things she uses when cleaning her sewing machines. Do you think they would be suitable or should i get some airbrush specific ones?

Great, i think there is a bottle of deionized water kicking about the house.

I do collect IG so tank armies aren't out of the question. I don't really plan on using on more then tanks and the odd bit of terrain, so i think i should be right... hopefully.... maybe....

Ok I can move trigger down and backwards so it definitely is a duel action then. Awesome.
