Toying around with the idea of a steam punk mech army using the Ogre Kingdoms army book as counts as. The fluff around it would be around an engineer who was kicked out of Nuln's universities due to his strange ideas his colleagues considered insane as well as his dangerous experiments. He now sells his services as a mercenary to help fund his new projects. I figured that since we already have mechanical horses(not sure if its still current), steam tanks, and helicopters running around, giant steam powered suits of armor aren't that big of a leap. Thoughts?

Ought to involve a skaven somewhere in there, so you can use the warpstone - maybe give yer engineer a partner who is a skaven that was kicked out for having equally outlandish ideas - and they meet up kindred souls style.

There's no such thing. Skaven technology is entirely built on outlandish ideas!



Or more accurately, stealing something, reverse engineering it, and then improving it in outlandish ways!

Seriously, read anything about Skaven and you'll see that there's no such things as crazy idea when it comes to Skaven tech.

The only thing that would be truly outlandish would be the idea that Skaven could live in peace with other races without the other races being slaves.

I hate steam punk but I think this is a really cool idea. Have close combat mechs for your core and then mechs with guns for the lead belchers?

Might I suggest this guy? He's a bit expensive to field as a unit, probably, but for a one off like a maneater or something I imagine he'd be perfect! I plan on using him in my Rattenstein list at some point...
