Hi, I'll start by saying that I love the universe of WH40K, but I do not play the wargame. Several years ago a friend lent me the Eisenhorn Trilogy and since then I've read many other novels and largely know the WH40K universe from them. Currently reading Gaunt's Ghosts and (slowly, because otherwise I'd read them marathon-like) Horus Heresy.

I draw; I'd like to also draw these things I read/ WH40k, then realized that I don't really know how they look like. (yesterday when browsing Dakka galleries: "...there's a difference between veteran and tactical powersuits?")
So yeah. I joined in the hope of learning more about the finer aspects of the game, hopefully to the point where I can draw them and not --making massive mistakes. Thankyou!

Oh. I love Daddy (well, Grandpappy) Nurgle most. ♥

Welcome to Dakka!

There is some difference in power armour worn by vets and regular marines; in general the higher rank/older/etc a marine is, the more ornate the armour. Some will also have newer marks of power armour, or slightly different types of power armour, depending on the chapter and how they work/are supplied/etc.

Check out http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/ for more information on 40k

I do have a soft spot in my heart for Nurgle, I love the old Nurglings, and the Plaguebearers of old, that was pulling the Innards out
and sucking on em, They had some nasty/Gory models back in the days.

Waaaaaaaaaaaagh! Pass me my Grog!.

Hi and welcome to Dakka!

Astra Militarum
Iron Warriors Army: Enyo Company
Enyo (Greek: Ενυώ, English translation: "warlike" in Greek mythology; Roman: Bellona), was an ancient goddess of war, acting as a counterpart and companion to the war god Ares. She is also identified as his sister, and daughter of Zeus and Hera in a role closely resembling that of Eris; with Homer in particular representing the two as the same goddess. As goddess of war, Enyo is responsible for orchestrating the destruction of cities
