A recent spring clean revealed some interesting items: football stickers from World Cup 1990, A police LP (Ghost in the machine)

and my old magic deck from 7 years ago.

My question is can it still be used in the physical world or in the online game?

I've got Slith Firewalkers, goblin chariots, goblins with machine guns, etc etc

Now bearing in mind that MTG is always updating, will I need to chuck these cards on the fire, or is it still game on?

Thanks.

It depends on the format you want to play in. Most events tend to run Standard, which only includes the most recent sets. However, you should be fine for Legacy or Vintage where every set ever printed is legal. You should also be fine for friendly games as long as your opponent knows you're not playing a Standard-legal deck.

I'm just talkin' about Megaweapon.

I quit buying Magic when they came up with the Standard rules. I'll be before I'll support a game that makes me buy all new cards every single year.

Even GW doesn't make you buy all new spearmen to replace the old model.

Hasn't Type 2 been in use since the 90's?

It existed in 94. I assume that was about the start of it, as before that there was only 1 or 2 sets you could even choose, so Standard would have been every card

Unfortunately for the major gaming scene, at least here in the states, you won't be able to use them. That's what playing with friends and Legacy is for though. Be warned though, Legacy allows all sets and pretty much every card except for the big ten, or whatever they're called.

Legacy, modern and casual will all be accepting with those cards. And you don't have to buy new cards, the core set contain alot of reprints, and you will be able to use them.
