So, I have couple of questions for you about a possible list that I have created. This is just the backbone of the list, I have not yet selected any troops or other things.

HQ
- Nemesor Zahndrekh (with CCB) = 265
- Vargard Obyron = 160

RC
- Necron lord (warscythe, sepiternal weave, teseract labyrinth, phase shifter) x 5 = 625

FA
-Wraiths x 6 (whip coils x 4) = 250

1300 points in total

The backbone is realy expensive and it take some time for the units to get in to the close combat. The plan is to put Nemesot into the CCB and charge full speed behind the enemy lines, then Vargard teleports to the Nemesor with the other lords, their action starts at the next turn. Mean while the wraiths try to get into a close combat from the frontside of the enemy. I have not yet tried this out, possibly still needs some improvements. And I understand that I have no change on fighting against orcs or something similar, the lord squad is designed to destroy 2+ armour save beefs like terminators or GK lists.

Zahndrekh might not be best in a CCB as he doesn't have the (nearly) obligatory warscythe.

That was also my problem, but then I figured out that after getting the lods and the Vargard behind enemy lines I can put Vargard into the CCB and the Nemesor into the squad with the lords. This way I don't eaven have to get a resorb for any of the lords. But the main reason for getting the Nemesor is to be able to DS the lords with vargard woth out scattering.

LOL Dude, you're so sneaky! Hope this works for you.

Btw, I put together a "oh, what the hell?" list for a game. (You know, you show up and everyone's expecting the same old thing, go "and now for something completely different!") I basically wanted a "Deathstar Light", something that I could run as an adjunct to an ally's army. (And everybody went, "OH, WHAT the HELL?" lol )

Basically I decided the phase shifters (3++ save, but 45pts a pop) were too much and dropped them, added one Chrono (3++ save, 30pts for his Timesplinter cloak) for wound allocation and saved enough to be able to buy another unit of Wraiths - which I could stick in front of my dudes for a cover save plus pile in during CC. Turns out that the MSS gives you a pretty darn good CC save indirectly, by often keeping the opponent from being able to attack. And the Sempiternal Weave's 2+ save caught most stuff.

Good plan with the DS!

Couple of things to consider. I'd keep at least a couple of phase shifters to give you an invulnerable save because I play people who love power weapons and shooting things with low AP (why they aren't shooting at my vehicles I don't know!). Also, on at least a couple of the lords, get MSS. Well worth it (maybe swap the Labyrinth for MSS on a couple).

Have you considered using Lychguard with a couple of lords and Obyron instead? That might save you some points (but you'll only be able to cram a couple of lords into the squad).

No actually I have not given a thaught for getting the lynchguards, I have actually never played CC necron list beafore. Are the lynchguards eaven viable, I always thaught they are just a waste of points. Mayby I will try out also those lynchguards

I haven't run LG myself, but I would say either run them with Warscythes and bring resiliency with their court (SempWeaves and Phase Shifters) or run them with Sword and Board and get Warscythes out of their court.

I run the lychguard with swords and boards. In order to get them into battle sooner, I use a veiltek, cos walking lychguard just feel wrong to me. Normally I add an orb lord with scythe and MSS, plus whatever non scythed overlord I happen to be running with that list.

If you want, check out the FunCron army list I posted to see how it can fit in to a list.

The swords and boards provide a nice invul save, and much hilarity when you bounce a shot back at the shooter!

Normally, I combo the lychguard with a death and despair squad just to give the opponent something else to shoot at and for some counter assault for when the D&D squad gets assaulted.

Have you tried loading the Lychguard into a Scythe to help with the movement issue?

You still have the same "can't charge after appearing" issue, but i wodl have though the Scythe woudl offer more precision placement than the Veil.

Not yet. However, will try that as I lost a complete unit to deep strike mishap today. Only problem I can see is that if the scythe dies I'm back to walking in from the edge. At least with a scythe I get another tesla destructor!!

To be honest, I don't have an issue with the charge after appearing, S&B lychguard seem to be able to soak up an amazing amount of fire.
