I'm doing a khorne army of daemons adn wanted to know if anyone knew how to make them look like they walking in pools of blood, the bloodonly needs to be up to their feet, they don't have to have their feet or higher submerged in blood.

Tamiya clear red and a drop of smoke works. or you can tint Future in thin coats, paint Future over blood painted areas, or tint water effects. You get the idea.

You see, to Auston, everyone is a Death Star; there's only one way you can take it and that's through a small gap at the back.

The most important thing about painting blood is to go dark, almost black. Otherwise it looks like either raspberry jam or ketchup.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

^^this. Blood looks nearly black when pooled because of its opacity, plus it adds some sinister detail to the mini. My suggestion: Paint the puddle black and then wash and highlight red.

I guarantee you that I'm not really as smart as the test says:

I'd also add don't just have the base as blood itself, it is much easier to make it work if it's on something. Such as a base of rocks or skulls with the blood pooling up in the recesses. The texture of the blood will also change depending on how dry it is or if it came from an artery (brighter towards red) or a vein (darker).

Guess if it helps you can achieve blood splatter using a stiff brush, some red ink and a card of some sort. Using it to sort of spray the model a touch. Need to experiment with how much ink to use as it will effect the size of the droplets and I suppose the type of attack that cause the blood to fly in the first place. Not that it should be too noticeable at this scale and then with those Daemons likely being red it may just blend in a bit. The important thing to remember when doing gore though is not to go overboard and ruin the effect.

If you went "Tamiya clear red and a drop of smoke" + glue in a mix, then thats the recipie you should use FOREVER! ^^ Looks good.

You won't be able to see through it either if your looking for that effect. Chop the feet off to make them submerged. Make sure you add gloss to the pool also.
