Right i'm pretty new to playing necrons and after reading the codex i have come up with a simple army list , your opinions would be much appreciated on it

HQ:
necron overlord+ warscythe+phylactery+command barge (195)
3xcryteks+harbinger of destrcution (105)

TROOPS:
-3x 9 necrons warriors+ghost ark (696)

Yeah, that's pretty solid. As your army expands, get more annihilation barges. They rule.

Just swap the phylactery with MSS and SW (I think that's right for points!). You'll find them more useful.

Also, given that you have ghost arks, maybe think about dropping warriors to get more Lanceteks. Even though you can only have 1 per unit per overlord, you can actually just put a couple in a ghost ark and turn it into a gunboat. The warriors can walk next to it.

i had this idea that have a squad of 6 warriors and have 4 cryptecks with that ST9 staff with them in a ghost ark it seemed funny as hell

the phylactery is only 15pts so it'd have to be either the mindshackle scarabs or the weave ? maybe it'd be worth getting rid of it for the mindshackle scarabs ?
And ah that could be a good idea to drop some warriors and have all the crtyeks in a ark and walk a unit up or even keep it on an objective

MSS is better value than phylactery imho. For me it is standard load out.

Creating ark gunboats works effectively, but just be careful with putting all your crypteks together. While they will be comparatively safe in the ark, they'll get taken down quickly out of it. Also, if you have more than 2 together you can't add warriors to take wounds.

I find pairs works more effectively for me. I keep them with 5 warriors and hold them back a bit (mostly I don't use ghost arks) . By having pairs I can shoot at 2 different targets if I need to.

I shall put that down then on second thoughts its probably better as my chance of coming back isn't great and even then i'll only get 1 or 2 wounds back thanks and i could try having gunboats once i model enough cryteks i'm too sure what i'm going to do for them yet

Where is the solar pulse??? Its 20 points and is well worth it.

You can drop the phylactery and run two arks at 8 warriors to get the solar pulse and also have one cryptek have Gaze of Flame (defensive grenades).

I found it is cheaper to make crypteks by getting a deathmarks box, making immortals and using deathmarks heads on warrior legs and chests with deathmarks backs. Or, if you get the lychguard box, I made sword & board lychguard and used praetorian back with warrior chests. The advantage is that the praetorian box has a huge amount of staff bits to trick up your crypteks with. Photos of my crypteks on my user page if you want to look. First ones I ever made!

Sweet is shall definatly look i had a similar idea but wasn't sure how to pull it off thanks man

and yeah maybe i could run a solar flare probably worth it , i've never really seen it used but heard its awesome
