Q. If Kos’sarro Khan rolls a 6 To Wound a model with a Toughness so high he cannot usually wound it, will Moonfang still inflict Instant Death on it? (p94)
A. Yes.

So my question is does this FAQ applies to Al'Rahem as well, despite the fact its in the SM FAQ? Will his sword ID people who he can't normally wound on a 6? I believe it will, just wanted some clarification.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

I only have access to the Guard codex, not the Space Marine one so can't check the wording on Moonfang.
Al'Rahem's sword rules only mention that it causes instant death, there's nothing to indicate it could wound models to tough to normally wound.

The Claw of the Desert Tiger (and the Huskblade) are simply power weapons which cause instant death. They still have to cause a wound...so no Al rahem cannot ID a Talos on a 6.

The difference is that Moonfang is a power weapon where "any rolls of 6 will cause instant death, regardless of the model's toughness"

Know thy self. Everything follows this.

My dad plays a SM bike white scars list and the reason the FAQ says he always will have a chance to ID is because kossarro is rending. So I think they made it so he would always have a chance.

Kossarro Khan does not have reanding. Neither in his stats, nor Moonfangs stat.

I have to disagree with Moonfang being an actual power weapon. I see that first sentence as fluff (similar to Eldar Chainsabres having built in Shuriken Catapults). I don't know if there is any justification in either of those, however, and I am probably wrong.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

"This is an ancient power sword" sounds like a power weapon to me.

So then "ancient gauntlets that house twin-linked shuriken pistols" are able to shoot in the shooting phase?
When I asked that on this forum I was told, it was fluff and does not apply.

3 Points:

1) yes, absolutely Shuriken Pistols(especially those written as "twin-linked") can be fired in the shooting phase

2) Fluff now does equal rules; and rules were often hidden in fluffy sentences anyways.

3) what unit entry is that from? The Scorpions Claw is a full Catapult and very specifically states it can be used in the shooting phase.

I refer to this thread here (specifically Insaniak's post):

Ah, that one is a little stickier.

Chainsabres says the Exaches train with twin-linked shuken pistols, not ever that they actually have them.

But then they do replace both basic weapons with the sabres so...

I do disagree with Insaniak's "why"; especially since that was posted after the official "fluff totally equals rules" we got from GW in the Grey knight FAQ.

Do you know if there ever was an official model with sabres? All I could find in google images were conversions or not described.

Chainsabres say: "Some Exarchs train in the use of blades paired with ancient gautlets that house twin-linked shuriken pisols, allowing them to level a storm of attacks at their foes. A model with chainsabres has +1 Attack and can re-roll all failed to hit and to wound rolls."

Getting rid of the fluff, we have: "Some Exarchs train in the use of blades paired with ancient gautlets that house twin-linked shuriken pisols, allowing them to level a storm of attacks at their foes. A model with chainsabres has +1 Attack and can re-roll all failed to hit and to wound rolls.

What?

First off there is no need to get rid of fluff.

Second; you are not even making any sense.

If you are trying to "Get rid of fluff" to determine what the Exarch is equipped with; then you need to completely discount the entire first sentence.

The reason for this is that the fluffy first sentence discusses what said exarch is trained in using; not what they are equipped with. Context is everything; if the same sentence had also remarked that they are trained to fight without their armour you would not be claiming that they have no armour save would you?

SO correcting your final statement would be:

This is a case where we must rely on the model to tell us how the exarch is equipped: if the model(or art) has the pistols: then the rules should reflect that(since the rules are not at all clear).
